So not only has he not posted today, he hasn't even logged into the site since the 15th. You know what they say. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him stop paying the tobacco industry to lose teeth and give himself cancer. Or something like that.

Hello everyone,
My name is Rob, I'm 31, born and raised in Chicago, picked up dipping when I was deployed in 2007 and haven't stopped since. Tried once during a deployment in 2013 and it didn't go well, lasted about two weeks. Trying again this time because I'm getting married on October 10th. If I start on the 20th, my 100 day mark will be October 28th.

I hope ol' Rob keeps his word better when protecting our great country than when it comes to quitting.

Where are you Rob? You promised us that you would post your Day 1 today. Are you a man of your word or are you still a lying pathetic Addict junkhead? You look forward to sneaking that dip after a few beers at the Wedding Reception?... I can see your forehead beading with sweat as you walk down the aisle because you are more concerned with when you are gonna get to kiss Miss Copenhagen and not Your new Wife...

Pathetic. Makes me Sad. Get the F in here and get to Quitting. Your life depends on it. If not today then never.

What the f@#k does getting married have to do with quitting? You quit for yourself not your wife, your grandma, your kids, your girlfriend etc.....and what significance does October 28th have? Drill this weekend, well what happens when you have drill next month and your boy comes over with a big fatty in his lip and tosses the can at you? Do you have the balls to toss it back unopened? Quit wasting our time sack up quit, post roll or go away please!

Rob -
There's wisdom in what these guys are saying. I just got off II duty, so I know exactly what you mean about drill weekend being a huge trigger. But, I found it to actually work the other way around: the first 2 days, you'll be so pumped with motivation and adrenaline, the cravings will barely bother you. After the motivation dies down, the mind games come into play. I also read an article on this site that stated impromptu quits are statistically more successful than planned quits.

So, check it out: flush it today, use the early motivation to power through the weekend, and for the next month you can remind yourself that you've already made it through your biggest trigger, so you can handle anything.

Or, you can do it your way, and here's what's gonna happen: You'll dread going back home after drill, because it'll be the end of the fun. You'll dread next drill weekend because it'll be your first drill without a lipper, and you won't know if you're going to make it.

Dread leads to fear. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate... leads to suffering.
Zero day: 22 June 2015.
Quit date: Today.

Thumblewort, I'm going to be around for at least a 100 days or more. I know myself well enough that I'm ready for it now where I wasn't ready to do this while I was deployed. I'm getting married shortly, and as much as she says she can put up with it, I don't want to do that to her or myself anymore. Also, I'm trying to finally get the rest of "my house" in order, I've changed my diet recently, I'm working out more again. It's time for me to get my shit together.

I saw you like Steel Panther, I've got this you tube video for you.

Hi Rob, my name is Thumblewort. After being on this site for over a year, I have seen many "I'll quit next week" intros. using my very best estimate, I'd say 80% never post here again.

I have also seen quitters sack up and dump the shit in the trash TODAY. Most of them buy into the plan and are still here today.

Where do you fall?
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

No reason other than a round number and National Guard duty this weekend which I know is a trigger.

*edit*
I guess I should explain better. I know that I have a month between drill dates, so if I start after this one on the weekend, it gives me a month before I hit my first big trigger.
*end edit*
Waking up and taking a dump was a huge trigger for me. Good thing I didn't wait.

Point is, quit now and be done. The withdrawals should be done by this weekend.
Setting a quit date for down the road is addict speak.
