FYI I posted roll call in my group, but put "Day 0" bc I dipped this morning, and want a true representation of my days.

Thanks again everyone - For the first time, I'm genuinely excited about quitting, as opposed to dreading the impending battle. It will end via nuke.
Right on BigD! You posted roll correctly the first time. Now you are committed to stay dip free today. Post roll first thing tomorrow and do it again. This will suck ass in the beginning but as you pile up the days you will realize the power of a ODAAT mindset. Honor your word! I quit with you all day.

PS. your roll post got bumped and I don't want to try and fix it. Its a madhouse in April. But I did see your roll post.
Glad you found us. You are meant to be here. Just keep posting and keep quitting. Follow these men's advice. They know quit.
BigD as in Dallas or .... nah I don't want to know -

I live in Plano - this site will work provided you do the heavy lifting. Dipped too damn long but have used this brotherhood to beat down the nic bitch
for the last 3 yrs.

Check you in box for digits
BigD... You can't HOPE this was your last dip. We don't use words like that. We QLF and do whatever it takes to not dip today. You can do it too. ODAAT!

Where y'at Big D? You've already received a bunch of good advice....been 16-17 hours since you were last here.....this is a daily put it out there site....earlier is better. Get up, post your promise, honor your promise, repeat. Nearly half the morning's gone and haven't heard a peep....what's up with that?
I'm here, I'm here! :D

I really appreciate the advice and words of encouragement, everyone! I just took out what I damn well hope is my last dip, and threw away the rest of the can.

CavMan, I sincerely appreciate the callout, and that makes me feel even better about this board and its members.

p.s. FYI, I don't have internet at home, and was in the process of switching smart phones yesterday, which is why I haven't posted again until now (at work). My new phone is working now, so I'll be back this evening to read up some more, and will be posting my first roll call first thing tomorrow morning.
Flush all your stash NOW and post roll. If you are going to quit then do it!
10-4, will do. I said tomorrow because I had already dipped today, not because I'm planning on doing it more tonight (I'm not).

I'll go do the roll now. Thanks.

Hi everyone, been dipping off and on for the past 8-9 years. When I say "off and on", it's not because I was ever able to quit, it's merely because I switched back and forth between dip and cigs, but have been strictly dip for the past couple of years.

Unfortunately, I've never actually wanted to quit until now. I've wanted-to-want to quit before (I'm sure many/all of y'all will know exactly what I mean by that), but couldn't get any further than that. The main reason I've finally been able to actually want to quit is because I recently started getting these superficial sores in my mouth where I would hold the dip. They quickly heal when I stop holding dip in that spot, but I know they'll only get worse and eventually turn into cancer if I continue. I like not being dead, and especially like 'boob' , so it's time to get serious and be a man about the challenge ahead of me.

I'll be honest: I've always looked at these online support forums as basically useless and/or a joke. "How could annonymous people on the internet ever hold me accountable?" I'd ask myself. I simply never took the time to ever actually look into one. Fortunately for me, today I was googling "Does Chantix help smokeless tobacco users quit?". One of the links I clicked on led me to the same question posted by someone on drugs.com, along w/a response to his question. On March 26, 2010, "HelpfulHand" (a mbr here?) posted the following in response to that question:

"Go to KillTheCan.org ASAP! KTC is a site specific to quitting chewing tobacco and the guys on that site can help you big time. Chantix has a lot of scary side effects. I've been quit for over 200 days now without using Chantix - just the support of the guys on KTC."

That, and that alone, is why I'm here today (well, aside from the whole dip addiction, but why split hairs?). I figured if someone has had success because of that support, and felt strongly enough about it to try and help out someone he doesn't know, it couldn't hurt for me to check it out.

Reading through this site, I'm not ashamed to admit I got a bit emotional, because it's clearly evident that y'all are serious and genuinely care to help each other out. I'm looking forward to reading more on this site, learning about the roll call, quit date, etc. (I'm currently at work, and have already spent too much time not working :o ). I'm excited about becoming a quitter! I gotta run now, but you have my word that this is not the last you'll be hearing from me.

Thanks to everyone here; for the first time I'm confident I can quit.

'til next time...

Great start to a solid quit. Keep reading on here. Invest the time on your quit like you did your addiction and you'll grow stronger with each day. User your intro to document your days- it's a great tool to look back on and get reminded of how bad the nic bitch can really be.

Drink a fuck ton of water the next week or so. It's going to suck for a bit but it's worth it.

No one ever said they regretted quitting.

**Make sure you go to the welcome center and read up on how to post roll. Posting roll every damn day (EDD) and honoring your word every day is the single most effective way to cunt punt the nic bitch EDD

Welcome to KTC Big D! You are right, we are dead serious here about quitting Nicotine in any form. Try to read as much as you can here. Learn how and why we post roll everyday (Read everything in the Welcome Center) You are in the April 15 quit group. April is when you will celebrate your first 100 days of freedom from nicotine. Post Roll Everyday, keep that promise all day, then repeat the next day. Its that easy. Holler when you need help. The beginning of this journey sucks ass but it does get better. Just hang on , and stay the course and I promise this will be the best decision you have ever made for yourself.
