Wt57's words are true. Your an addict. And the addiction will tell you all kinds of things to get you to put off quitting. Saying I quit and getting Day 1 behind you is the hardest step. After that just keep adding 1 day at a time. Take your life and your health back.

Well chances are your gonna be ok and then the addict in you will be convincing you to delay your quit. I delayed quitting for 40 years, lost 10 teeth, had several gum grafts and always delayed quitting. Time to man up or you'll wake up 30 or 40 years from now dipping a couple cans a day and realize you've wasted tens of thousands of dollars.
Post roll and quit!

Muck, I pray that your health is 100 percent. I hope your fears are bunked by your dentist and you are just fine. However, this is a quit site and I have a feeling that as soon as you are given a clean bill of health that you will immediately return to lipping the deadly leaf. I have done it myself and especially at such a young age. Prove me wrong, make me be the asshole that challenged your quit.

Still I pray your health rocks.

Long overdue day 1
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:13:00 PM »
Yesterday was the day I put the can down for the first time in two years. The week before, the dipping was getting out of control, I threw in 5 lips a day on average.

I'm a college student who dipped in high school on and off because I played for the baseball team, but the past two years I've dipped consistently and became extremely addicted. I didn't think it was a big deal until yesterday, when I had realized I ignored signs of gingivitis, and began to get brown spots between my gums and teeth. Nothing too big, just a couple of little spots. That, along with the receded gum lines was enough for me.

I'm scared I have periodontal disease, and if I do have it, it is very small. However I will call the dentist tomorrow to set up an appointment. If anybody has any experience with the disease please let me know, is it something that doesnt show up that quickly? Am I overreacting? Will I lose my teeth? I want to kick this shit, and will sign up for roll ASAP. Wish me luck.

Thanks to SirDerek for giving me the encouragement to write this.
