I started at about 15 when a group of friends found a can in one of their older brothers room, Copenhagen Straight pouches. At the time it was just forbidden fruit, didnÂ’t pick it back up for a couple years.
At 17 is when it really started. Everyone on the baseball team packed on the bus rides or when they werenÂ’t starting. Things only got worse when I went to college. I was a freshman on the baseball team so I traveled, but never played. The workers at 711 new me by name and were already pulling logs down when I walked in.
I tried cold turkey once in 2011 and made it 3 months before a buddy came back from Boot Camp. He offered me one and me like an idiot thought I was no longer addicted and it would be rude not to. Been consistently on the stuff for the last 7 years. Health wise IÂ’m fine at 26, but after reading about some of the guys who have been on it since IÂ’ve been alive, IÂ’ve decided to take their advice.
Thank you to those of you who reached out to me. I know the mind of an addict always makes excuses for their actions, so I wonÂ’t try to justify an excuse why I canÂ’t quit today. I can make my pre promise that tommorow I will be quit.
