Couldn't last a few days??? You had so much conviction just a few days ago. Your actions are "deleterious" to my health. See ya.

Great decision to come to this site and make a commitment Tex. Post roll every day and read something/anything from this site every time you crave. You'll learn to truly hate the nic-bitch and everything it's taken away from you as well as how to battle the craves if you read the stories, testaments, and advice on this site. I've tried to quit countless times and have tried gum, patches, and Chantex. None of that stuff works and I owe every day of my quit to this site and its members. PM me if you have any questions or want to exchange numbers.

The nic-bitch may be a crafty one, but she is NOT bigger than you. We are here to help but the decision to place cat turds in your lip is only yours. Get on over to the May 2015 quit group and make your promise that you won‘t use today. Get agressive on this.

Hello all, I will be brief because I'm in the middle of work. I'm 27 years old and been dipping regularly for 10 years now. It has been a constant struggle and I have comes to grips with my addiction. This thread is my road to freedom from the can, something I can accept. I know the implications to my health and the serious nature to my future if I don't stop. I've already lost a father to heart disease and realize I have a genetic predisposition to addiction and poor health. Fortunately I stay extremely active, yet this vice is the one holding me back from truly appreciating life and what God has in store for me. I know this is something much bigger than me, so I leave this in the hands of my father above and the members here to help. Any tips to begin quitting and words of wisdom and support is much appreciated and encouraged.

I had my last dip this morning and decided enough is enough. I would really appreciate if anyone could suggest something I can use in place of dip that simulates the same feeling, yet is non-deleterious to my health.

I plan to update this thread weekly.

This is day 1! Here we go!
Hello friend. I'm 50 years old been dipping 38 years. Been quit 32 days! It really sucks off and on just man up! What I was gonna really say is sound alot like me very active worked out healthy no problems no bad habits except the big one dipping, then out of the blue 1 and half years ago massive heart attack! Long story short doc finally tells me good chance it was from dipping! GET in here! I've tried quitting numerous times! Now I know I can do this with all my brothers and sisters behind me! Post roll, read, listen! Quit one day at a time!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Finally - technically, tomorrow is your day 1, you've used nic today. Power through it, post roll tomorrow morning.
Tex - welcome.

Just wanted to clarify one point from KennyZ's post. If you've thrown out your dip and all forms of nicotine then TODAY is your Day 1 - Embrace the suck so you never have to go through it again. Drink tons of water and get some exercise if you can.

I used fake stuff called Smokey Mountain that you can get at most Wal-Marts. Lots of guys swear by Hooch and get it on-line. Whatever you have to put in your mouth is fine as long as it's not dip!

You can do this man - I dipped for 22 years and my life revolved around when I could get my next Kodiak fix. The freedom from that burden is indescribable.

Welcome Tex!!!
Great decision to say no more nic.

Our stories are similar. My dad died a year ago this February from heart attacks. He had his first one when he was my age and had several up until the day he died. He used nicotine all the time too.

Listen, the first day/week or so is going to be tough. But you can do it. Many of us have and we are here for you. The biggest thing for you right now is to post roll as a promise saying you are not going to use nicotine in ANY form for today. And then, be a man of your word. That's it. Then get up the next day, and do the same thing. Do that every day...wake up, piss, post. It is a recipe for success.

Also, get numbers. text or call when you are battling a crave. I will be sending you my number in a PM. You will find it by going to your inbox located in the top right corner of the website.

I will be here for you man. You've got this!

Welcome Tex,

Read, read, read and read anything and everything on this site!

Get over to the May 2015 quit group and start posting roll every day (early too, people get pissed when you commit not to use at the end of the day).

Get a hold of some numbers the text or call when you're feeling weak. PM me and i'll give you my number.

Remember - this is about you quitting this crap. We can help and support, but you have to have your mind right. There is no try, just do it one day at a time.

Finally - technically, tomorrow is your day 1, you've used nic today. Power through it, post roll tomorrow morning.

There are a bunch of great people here for you to lean on. Use it.
