Welcome to one of the best decisions of your life. In case you haven't been hit yet by the withdrawal symptoms, let me warn you now it's gonna suck for awhile. Even after the physical withdrawals, the mental symptoms remain for awhile. But take heart, if all of us here can quit (I dipped Copenhagen longer than you've been alive and managed to quit), you can too. My first advice to you is read up as much as you possible can on the addiction; get plenty of water in you to help flush the nicotine, and stay active. My next piece of advice is to get to know your quit group. Over the next few months they will become like an extended family to you. Trade digits with them (and with others on the site)...if you need mine, they're just a PM away. Build a web of accountability strong enough to sustain you through the weak moments. Your daily promise, sustained by your integrity and knowing others are going through the same thing, others you can trust to help you through it, stacking one day on top of the other, is how quits are built. I quit with you today.

You've already been given some great advice by some BAQ's so let me just say, welcome to KTC Spaghetti!!!

I enjoy trail running myself. Just started this year. I had no Idea it could be that much fun. Running has been a great replacement for me to fill the void left behind by nicotine. I recommend hitting the running extra hard during the next couple of months. I believe it helps takes the edge off the withdrawal.

Get involved in this site and you can put this stuff behind you for good. It doesn't make the withdrawal suck any less, but the support goes a long way in helping you stick with your commitment.

You'll get better at posting roll real quick, because it's something we do everyday. And we do it 1st thing in the day. It's a promise not to use for the day, not a status update at the end of the day.

Believe it or not, you will get the process down to about 30 seconds or less, depending on your "input device".

Found this forum and honestly teared up. I've been "quitting" for the past two years. I keep thinking how nice it would be to have freedom, and yet that little voice tells me within a few days "it's worth it". Reading through the posts here and seeing the mentality you folks bring has me pumped the fuck up.

I just dumped my can out the window. I quit.

About me, I'm only 25. I started dipping at 16, and went full force a can or so a day once I hit 18. I have been married for almost a year, I work in the outdoor recreational industry, and I am a huge fan of trail running.
