That's awesome man! Get with your quit group. Post your roll EVERY FREAKING DAY! Get some digits and if you need to, call them when you are feeling tempted. Get in the chat when you have an urge. Best decision in your life my friend.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the support and words of wisdom. I am happy to say that I decided to flush the Nic Bitch down the toilet, and changed my quit date to today. I posted in roll call and am so excited to be a part of such an amazing group. I started the first day to the rest of my life, today, June 25th 2014. I cant wait to be done with this addiction!! I know it wont be easy, but having so much support and people that are willing to help me will make things that much easier! DOWN WITH THE NIC BITCH!
Third day in a row we have had a new quitter with a future date turn it into a today quit. Baseball11 you made the right call, and I quit with you today!
This is what makes this site the shit. Let's just get it done.

This is the best decision that you have made in a long time! Welcome to the loony bin. Read lots, drink even more water and crush push ups or pelvic thrusts if you get my drift. Proud to quit with you today.

Rip the bandaid off and commit to quit now. Jump in the deep end head first.

You only have to quit one day at a time.
1) Post Roll with your promise to not use nicotine in any form today. (You're in the Oct. Quit group. topic/10359552/)
2) Honor your word. (If you don't have that then what do you really have?)
3) Get connected with people on here and form a support system.

It's doable. It works. Take a look around. You have friends here. Don't let your addict brain tell you "just a few more days... you don't want to waste the money you spent on this can" It's bullshit. Flush that crap. In three days you'll have all the nicotine out of your system. In a week or so you'll start to see what it means to be free from it and each day seems a little easier.

Do it. Quit.

If you need a # shoot me a PM.

Like so many others I always had a plan to quit date; next Monday, next birthday, New Years, next anniversary and always after this can. Son, let me tell you, the only way to quit is jump NOW just do it and then do the same thing every day. I called you 'son' because your young enough to be my son as so many on the site are and the advise I'm giving is what I'd give my son or grandson if they dipped. Another little secret; when I joined this hell I had a quit date set for two weeks ahead (32 wedding anniversary) and I got the same advise as your getting, do it now!

Baseball - just quit now. Trust me, it will be a lot easier. Setting a quit date will do 2 things, which both will make your quit worse than it has to be..
1) You will stuff your face with as much dip as possible for the next 2 days - giving your body more nic than it is used to only to deplete it afterwards
2) Your stress and anxiety levels will be so high that you'll be more likely to cave during a tough craving

Take this advice from someone who attempted this strategy numerous times. Logic goes out the window during quit. If we were logical, we would have never started...Quit today, and only worry about today's fight. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

June 27th is too far away. You can't quit in the future. I used to love setting quit dates. When the date rolled around, there'd always be another date that'd be more convenient to quit, so I'd move it.

You gotta quit today. Right now. You gotta dump your can and declare your freedom.

I promise you that you're not more addicted that anyone here. We all dipped all day long. There are people here who dipped during sex. The worst of the worst. But you know what...they were able to quit. You wanna know how? They flushed all nicotine products and never shoved them in their face anymore. It's really that simple when you break it down. Is it easy? No, it's not. It's very, very hard. You're going to have some tough days ahead, but it is SO much better on the other side.

You can't give me one good reason to put that stuff in your mouth again. The only reason you want to wait is fear. The fear will still be there on the 27th. Man up and let's get this done today. Lean on us. Come in here and yell and scream at us. We can take it. You only have to do this one time. You better do it now. After college, life only gets harder and it will become increasingly harder and harder to quit.

You're probably thinking: "whatever, it'll be easier to quit when I have a wife and kids." Nope. It's not. The best day to quit is right now. Let's do it. Go dump all nicotine. Read about roll call and why we do it at the link Chief provide above. Then hit the October group and post your word as a man for us today and we'll all quit together.

I have been a baseball player all my life. I am now 23 years old, and gratefully still playing in college. I used to absolutely hate tobacco, until my first year out of high school. I received a scholarship to play in Washington, and my first day there one of my teammates offered me a dip. Of course, I said no at first, but striving to be accepted I took my first pinch. I loved the rush it gave me, and i found myself taking more and more dips every day. That was six years ago. I have always wanted to quit, and have tried and failed numerous times. I realize now that I cannot do this on my own, which is why i turned to KillTheCan.org. I have noticed the health risks that come with dipping, being a 1-2 can a day dipper, I now have receding gums, "leather lip", and stained and broken teeth. I feel that it will be difficult for me to quit, because I keep dips in for hours on end, especially when playing baseball. I feel that dip is a part of my life, and I want it out of my life for good. All it does is cause health problems, and bad breath lol. I am so thankful to have found this site, and am happy to say that i set my quit date for June 27th, 2014. I hope to connect with everyone and give as much support to you as I can, and hope that I can beat my addiction. Thank you for your time.
Welcome to the site Baseball!

You have made the best decision of your life to kick the nic bitch to the curb.

Let me ask you this, why set your quit date for the 27th? I did the same thing as you. I came on here with a quit date in my mind but these guys convinced me that the day I came here was the day to quit. The hard truth to face is that you and i are ADDICTS. This isn't just a bad habit, we are full blown nicotine addicts. Addicts love to make excuses, I know I did every day that I tried to quit on my own. What excuse will come up on the 27th to push the quit date a little further out? I challenge you to flush that shit down the toilet today and start living free RIGHT NOW! One thing that gave me a wake up call, what if that last dip you plan on taking on the 26th is the one that gives you the big C? You know what I am talking about, the dip that gives you cancer. What if that could have been prevented by quitting RIGHT NOW?

Read up everything in the Welcome Center forum/55560/

Post roll call and make your promise to quit today. You will never regret quitting, you will always regret not quitting soon enough.

Hit me up if you need any help. I live in Germany for now so I can't text but I would be glad to exchange emails if you need any help on your quest for being quit.
