Where did you go? It's obtainable, but you got to really want it.
Guess the family isn't all that important. He did a fly by yesterday but still no post. I really hate seeing this.

HoF Speech

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Well here's the deal...I am a 51 year old male with an addictive personality. Not to get all into my story, I quit drinking along with a cocaine addiction some 8 years ago. My life has never been better in fact I probably would never of even thought about quitting chew if it weren't for two things. You see, at 50 I got married for the first time in my life and shortly after our wedding, my life was born....twins :o Two little Angels from Heaven...a little boy and my little princess. I am so proud to be there Father however I more than likely won't be around to see them graduate high school if I don't stop this nasty habit. The challenge is simple..I have been dipping two cans of Kodiak since I was 17 years of age, quick math adds up to 34 years of non stop dipping. I wake up put a dip in my mouth and I rotate old with fresh throughout the day. For the time being, I stay at home with the 1 year olds while my wife works as a RN at the local hospital. If I get 6 hours of sleep that means I have a dip in my mouth for around 18 hours a day. The only time I don't have one in as when the babies are napping and I take a shower. Hell who am I kidding most of the time I take the shower with a fat lunker in my lip. Anyway, you get the picture. Now I must quit and get all messed up even thinking about it. Ran across this site to find a few co-pilots that could give me a boost to get it done. Thanks for reading my ramble!
TN, I'm 53 and started when I was 20. I quit cold turkey 18 days ago, if I can do it, you can do it. A few rules, this is a NO NICOTINE sight. Nicotine gum, patches don't get you off nicotine, it's just a different source of the poison. Kids, wife are great to please but you have to quit for YOU! Go to the WELCOME CENTER, top left in pink, and read all you can. Throw away all your chew, even your stash can and get on board. There are 1,000s of quitters here looking to help if you're really committed. Surf the site, show up in LIVE CHAT. You can do this, it's very simple, but not easy.
Hate to turn this into the old fart thread but I'm 56 and have my own 2 little ones keeping me motivated, grandson 6 and granddaughter 4. I get to spent lots of time with them, they live just down the road. You can do this but I will say it sucks. I hope it really sucks bad for you too, the suck makes us never want to repeat it. Post roll daily and keep your word, it's that simple. Now get r done.
Stop thinking about it and do it. We here at KTC take quitting to a new level. I QUIT with you bud
One more 50 year old, 2 cans a day ,for 26 years checking in! I'm a gigantic dumbass. If I can do this you certainly can!
Tennessee: post day one - join us May brothers (we'll all hit 100days around the same time). Don't be like me hoping that your kids never saw you hiding your dip from them. Don't let your babies down - they need you to stay alive and healthy!
I'm not in my 50s...I just turned 27, but have been married for 114 days today. I never thouglove to see the nic birht I would want to quit until a couple weeks ago I thought about dying early and leaving my wife...family makes you think.

I dipped the same way you did. I was scared to death to even think about not having a dip in. I'm on day 4. I'm doing pretty good....my quit has sucked, but no where near as bad as my mind made me think it would.

There's no way to tell how it will go until you jump in. Post roll in the am....
Hey Tenn, you might have 3 years on me but I've been an addict my entire life. Group up in a home with smoking parents. I bet my mom nursed me with a cig in her mouth. Started dipping in elementary school. Have never even slowed down on snuff. Let alone quit. All that to say..... if I can do thus, anyone can. It does suck to start with but here we quit for one day. Forever us too much of a big bite to think of. So just take it one day at a time. I gotta tell you, I'm at 170 days and I never thought it could be this good. It is so awesome. It is so great buddy. Just take that first step. Quit for a day. Then the next morning, do it again. It's just that simple. And Tenn, here we quit together.
Oh yeah Gdub. You know there are only a few times in our addict lives that we reach this point to say I gotta stop. The rest of the time we are stuffing it in like we need the shit to live. Tennessee, get off the fence and post roll. If you don't know how, go to the pinkish tab above and learn how to. You don't need to wait any more to get the shit out of your mouth and post roll!!! Do it Today!!!!
Am I the only one that looks for a 2nd post from a new quitter before diving in?
Tenn was in chat this morning, he's been around......
Welcome Tenn to the best of your life. Glad you made here.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.

I never thought I would want to quit until a couple weeks ago I thought about dying early and leaving my wife...family makes you think.

I dipped the same way you did. I was scared to death to even think about not having a dip in. I'm on day 4. I'm doing pretty good....my quit has sucked, but no where near as bad as my mind made me think it would.

There's no way to tell how it will go until you jump in. Post roll in the am....

Hey Tennessee.
Congrats on a great choice! Welcome to the place that really works, as long as you work it. Post roll. Keep your promise. Read. Read. Read. Come to chat. Read. Read......and Listen. I have seen a wealth of knowledge come out of here and fall on deaf ears at times. Listen. The info, the tips from those who have been there, the hardcore truth.....will keep you strong and pushing forward. Then, just repeat tomorrow. :)

See you in chat!
