Please repeat after me:
I refuse to be a statistic anymore. Once I realized the only way to quit and stay quit is if I accept the responsibility of controlling my own actions. A little can no longer controls my actions, thoughts, emotions, MY DESTINY. I DO! There is no going back from here or I am that statistic I refuse to be.

Thanks guys, it's hard enough already, keep wanting to run to the store and grab a can, it's taking everything I have to abstain. Not to mention I'm getting a bit moody, or atleast becoming less able to be tactful when people annoy me. Especially this one guy I work with who has hit on my wife and my buddy's wife on several occasions, whom we don't hang out with anymore- but now my buddy's overseas and he's apparently been nagging his wife, not to mention I found a few not too cool comments he's left to our wives on Facebook... taking everything I have not to pop him in the mouth- thank God I can trust my wife

'bang head' don't dip, don't dip 'bang head'
Glad you're here, ark. Your decision supports my quit. I for one like the way that works around here. I think you'll get the gist of reciprocation pretty quickly.

Yeah... you're going to have to keep your wits about you for the first three weeks. I'm no expert, being a 32 day newbie myself presently, but there was definitely emotional chaos and short fuses recognizable in my personal space.

Tell you what...
I think this co-worker of yours might need a little hint, and I don't think you'll have to pop him in the mouth to get your point across.
Were I in your shoes, and looking out for my buddy who's overseas, I'd drop a few bucks at the local sex shop, buy this loser a blow up doll and a hand held vagina and leave them right there at his desk with a discreet note that reads, "A little something to occupy your time until you find your own wife."

Not that I have anything against toys and/or people who like to play with them, but.........

........I'm just sayin'... maybe this dude could use a hint

Anyway...........
You'll have to put up with some shit, but of utmost importance --
KEEP THE QUIT!!!!!!

Thank you for your service. I'm glad you finally made the decision to quit. We're here to support you. One of the most important things you will do here is post roll. That is your commitment to yourself and others that you are quit for the day you post. Do it everyday. You may think it's insignificant, but it's one of the best tools to help you through your quit.

Awesome decision ark - I too thank you for your service....

divarty is so right on the soda and caffeine..... if you can, i'd try and avoid it all together for 3-4 days because you're body is doing some funky re-wiring right now....

Great decision man, welcome to the place that can save your life.

Cut back on the soda and coffee, the nic helped your body proccess the caffiene, take out the nic and your body is wired all night, that will help you get some shut eye. The first couple of days really really suck, but if you do it right you never have to do it again.

Hi everyone, been dipping at least a can a day but just quit yesterday right after looking for a quitters forum. Put my dip down the drain and turned on the garbage disposal- almost didn't think I could do it, kept trying to tell myself to wait till today.
Anyway, needless to say no sleep last night, but it's cool, luckily my wife is away so my bad mood can't affect her.
A little about me, in the military, I quit easy b4 I got in but as soon as I got out of basic and to work, I started up all over again. Not to mention when your on an aircraft carrier with nothing to do in the few hours you get off work... dipping sort of fills the space. But heres to day 2, doing ok this morning, no doubt when I wake up more it will become more difficult- going to buy more gum in a few to help (chewed a whole pack last night).
Welcome Ark, Great decision bro. First off, thanks for your service. It's much appreciated here. There are many military quitters on the site but we ALL have a common goal of ridding our lives of the dependency of Nic. You should be in the April Quit Group. Get out there and post roll as your promise for the day to not ingest Nicotine by ANY method. You will find everything you need to take back control of your life. Man-up and lets do this thing.
