I am putting this here so that it might help new quits.
I got a pm today from my "quit partner" today. I didn't buy into KTC completely at first I was reluctant to really share my number with a lot of strangers. I made a connection with this guy though. We met in chat one night and hit it off. we kept each other quit shared texts emails back and forth. I supported others in my group but this guy was my partner we were going to make it together, and we did we made it to HOF! We bought each other their HOF coin only when he reached HOF he announced he was leaving and he didn't want to be contacted by others from the site! Never once did he indicate he was even considering leaving. His PM today was very nice thanking me for helping him quit. He claims he is still quit and I hope he is. I owe him a lot for getting me through some rough times. It was nice to hear from him but I am much more thankful for the rest of the December Disciples and all my other friends at KTC that have continued to quit with me ODAAT EDD!!!
Moral of the story is reach out and make as many connections in your group and on this site that you possibly can!!! You can't have too many folks to lean on when things get tough.
Never really did understand why 30secs to post a promise was soooo difficult for people. Particularly people like us whose addiction had us using that weed 18 hours a day.
30 secs for a whole day is all it takes. Oh well. Glad he's still quit and happy to have you in Dec '15 too TJ. Keep killing it.
You my friend are a badass and you both are so correct, 30 seconds for brotherhood and accountability and friendship is undeniably hard to beat! Damn proud to have you 2 badass disciples on my side! Thanks and let's keep on Odaat!
March 2014 Iron Men - started out with exactly 100 people, a small group by some comparisons. Over the months / years, we lost a number of quitters - many would fizzle out. They would post once or twice a week; then once a month, and before you know it we're down to 11 people. Then, once we all passed the 1,000 day mark, two more just faded away. Now, we're down to 9.
It used to make me sad, a little; or just disappointed to see people leave. But not any more...it's dead weight. People who don't post roll bring the team down, and I don't have a need for them. These last 2 who dropped off - they were stragglers in our group. Not really involved and I didn't have much of a relationship with them, if any. The remaining 9 - they post every day. This is the core of the Iron Men and now it's blatantly evident that these magnificent 9 are directly responsible for the success of each other. We're pretty tight.
Dead weight is going to be there for a while and over time they'll slough off. Now, when I post with older groups and see numbers 10, I get it...these are the diamonds; and they make for the strongest quit foundations. Moral of the story; be a diamond.
