Don't try to quit thinking about it.  That is setting up for failure, in my honest opinion.  I had to do the exact opposite.  I moved my quit to the very forefront of my life, especially for the first few months.  I was QUIT before anything else.  Never let you guard down.  Nic is s sneaky one.  The craves will come along, and the only way to overcome them is to be prepared.  I can't be prepared if I'm not thinking about it.

I understand your point. I really do, but learn to embrace it.  Live and experience every pitiful, agonizing moment.  Those memories will be strong tools to help you stay the course later.
I get your point. What I was referring to were the cravings.
Radman's point is a good one, remember every bit of fog and suck that withdraw brings. As for battling cravings, my recommendations are:
1. fake dip, seeds, mints, gum, whatever helps with the oral cravings
2. Read everything on this site, especially when you are craving. There is a ton of fact and knowledge here for those willing to read it.
3. Live chat - use as needed, a good way to get some immediate interaction with a quitter or two.
4. email/txt a few brothers and whine about a craving. You will get tons of support back and can help each other stay quit.
5. Don't think about forever. You are quit today. That is all. We will quit again tomorrow when it gets here. Break it down to smaller units if necessary, stay quit this hour.
T-Cell said it all! Listen, follow his advise, read all you can and quit today = success!!
Just found out how to find my first post and 106 days later I am a fine example of the great work ktc will do and is doing. Well that is if you get into your quit group get some names and numbers then reach out to the people in your group. Oh yeah you will also have to work your ass off post everyday drink the koolaid that is ktc and keep quit one day at a time. Listen where I am from everyone dips or smokes so finding someone to look up to is hard around here. I came here and simply put out what I was doing and in a matter of min. I had a new ktc coach and mentor(TCell) I owe alot of wisdom to him for his help thank you again.
Something I forgot to mention something you will have to do on the ktc is find yourself the person that you are with out the nicotine it is hard and most rewarding for me. Thank you KTC for all the help and continued support.

Welcome David. I'm quitting with you brother, just finishing up day 4. 37 year old father of 3 sooner fan here. Everyday is getting better right? Keep at it, post roll everyday, make that promise to be nic free and before you know it, we'll be at the 100 days. Lots of good guys in here that just happen to be bad-ass quitters! Pm me for my number and let me know if you need anything.

Hi David. Welcome to the best decision of your life. Congrats on deciding to quit and join the ass-kicking quitters on this site.
I saw your post in 2012 HOF area, so moved it to your quit group, which will be May 2013 (based on your quit date you reach 100 days in May 2013). Post roll every morning there, get to know others in your group. Exchange phone numbers, get serious about being accountable to yourself and others here.
I'm from the May 2012 HOF group, coming up on 1 year quit next week. If I can help you, please let me know.

Hello David. Welcome to Quit! I dipped for over 25 years and now I'm 58 days Quit. You must find your group and post roll every day. There are some awesome guys on this website. I honestly could not be Quitting without them.

Welcome to the other side. The grass is way greener over here. Strawberry gum and Pickle Seeds are my crutch. I don't do the fake shit but others do. This is a Cold Turkey only method. You can do it one day at a time. If my degenerate ass can Quit....YOU can Quit. Freedom from nicotine rules!
