Thanks for the support guys. just got my internet back. im on day 5, still no dip. the first 3 days were pretty awful, but it feels easier to not think about it now.

@ Radman: The "try" was referring to never joining a site like this. and touche' on the habit comment. you are right!
man i dont see you postid up in roll. thats ware you need to be. i dont need a statis report. i get those from my peeons evry day.
Gotcha, I misinterpreted the "try". It took me a while to get over the "habit", so I try to point that out early to folks.

Syndrome makes a good point.... I don't see you on roll either. Let's do this, man.

goons, you can and WILL do this. You have started posting roll which is the most important thing you can do in your quit. You may ask yourself why it is so important and I will try to explain.

In the very simplest terms you are giving your word to your quit group and every other quitter on this site that you will not dip for 24 hrs. If you fail we all fail. Kinda like your unit. If one of you fucks up you all fuck up. So get on here every day and give us your word that you will not dip for 24 hrs.

I have a quitter in my April 2011 group that just got back from his second tour in the sand. He quit on that second tour. He is one bad ass quitter and I expect nothing less from you.

Thanks for your service and stay quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody. I haven't really done anything like this before, so i'm not really sure how it works, but I thought I would give it a try.

Today is my first day in about 6 months without having a dip. I have dipped for about the last 4 years. Im 25 years old, and I am currently serving in Iraq. It is going to be really hard, especially here, to quit, but im going to do it. The hardest part about it is that so many of my friends/other soldiers dip, so im always around it. Im just tired of the taste, feeling like my teeth are always gross, and having to feel dishonest for sneaking dips when I was home and around my fiance'. Im sick of feeling helpless to such a stupid habit. IM DONE.
Correction #1: Don't try. There is no try. There is "quit", and there is "not quit". Every day, we choose to be one or the other.

Correction #2: You don't have a habit. You, just like me, are an addict. Nicotine is an addiction just as gripping as any illegal street drug.

Adapt your thinking and your success will be much more likely. Welcome to the suck.
