Keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks again, everyone...
Nope that doesn't work. Posting your word and keeping it works. Crossing your fingers just makes it a bit harder to open the can.

It's mind set. You are either quit, or your "just taking a break". If your quit, there's not luck, no easy road, no fingers crossed. Your in or you fail.

Are you in? Do you hate what it's done to you? Read the contract about dip, I carry it with me. I won't ever let dip be important again. I can't ever have "just one more".

Good point, RWM. Didn;t mean it that way, but good to be reminded of, too.

Not hoping...quitting. Half-assed it too many times in the past, and have been down that "just one more dip" road many times. Not again.

Thanks,

Jake

Thanks for the good words, everyone. Tough stuff, but nice to be moving fwd with quitting after all these years.

Yup, would be nice to see Kodiak go bankrupt - nasty stuff, insidious little habit. Ugh. But, as much as I'd like to blame them, I know much of it is my own damn fault for not being stronger sooner. No time like the present.

FWIW, I've been using Chattahoochee snuff (www.hoochsnuff.com) to help me through and it's been just enough to keep me away from buying more. Keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks again, everyone...

Hi all,

Been dipping Kodiak far too long - 21 years, starting when I was 15. The last 10+ have been the worst, over a can a day, and generally not spitting.

Just got back from a trip where there was no dip available, didn't bring any, and was able to be off the sauce for 8 days...and counting.

Back home now, and trying to resist the temptation. Always the hardest part. But, I'm psyched to be here and know there's a lot who've been through it, and a lot going through it. Looking forward to coming out the other side.

Thanks in advance for the support and help and all the resources here.

Get your ass in! Im into day 9 myself. We can quit. Most of my quit has been a livin fuckin hell, but I have had some great moments of clarity. I can see the real me tryin to bust free. It is getting easier, it really is. QUIT. You will have to quit someday, might as well make it now.
a strange game. the only winning move is not to play

Welcome Jake,

Your at the right place to make this happen. The good news is you are already 8 days into your Quit. Give yourself a big pat on the back because that is a major accomplishment.
Now the key is to keep it rolling, one day at a time. Use the sunflower seeds, chow on the gum, etc...
Read everything you can on this site and I promise it will help you. Go to the January group and post your roll call.
Everyone here knows what your going through and we are here to help you.

PM me if you need anything.

Brian

JRndai - rock on, if your day 8 then the physical is past, now it's the mental.

I dipped Kodiak for way too many years of my 30 year trip. I'm 109 days free and it's like getting out of jail. No more hiding, no more worry where's the can, do I have enough, can't spit so swallow, no more fights with wife about it, hid from the kids, ..... no more quit tommorrow, quit after Jan 1st, quit after 40, 45, ....

Go to Jan group and post up. Post your word, I will not quit today. Then keep it.

You can beat this. Be pissed, stay focused - read everything you can. You are not alone here.

Get fake stuff, seeds, gum, drink water, exercise.

Welcome to the quit brother. Get connected, PM me if you need a number.

I'd love to hear Kodiak sales have dropped so far that they stopped production!

Quit on, Quit Strong
