New and just quit, 33 years old from Pittsburgh PA.  Moving to Charlotte in 2 weeks for a new job and decided it is time for a good change.  I've been dipping since i was 16 years old.  I quit twice for about a year a piece.  I am using the "patch" to try and help.  I would go through like 3-4 cans a week.
A slave is slave. Whether the slave has iron shackles or steel shackles, he is still shackled. Using nicotine to quit nicotine? Doesn't make sense, nor does it work. You will find the key to your emancipation in the "WELCOME CENTER". It is the vaginal pink link at the top of the page. Go do some reading. Then come back and lets talk.

Damn someone finally identified the color of the welcome center, good job Vadge! Quittinforgood, the advise you've been given is what will set you free. You're not the first to log in here with the misconception that nicotine replacement with changing the delivery system is smart. I tried many forms in the past. Going off nicotine cold turkey works without prolonging the pain.

You're not quitting with a patch on. You're just delivering your fix through a different method. Nicotine is your problem... not chew.

Rip that thing off and quit for real. We do it cold turkey here bro. None... at all.

Do it. Try real freedom.
Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten.

My question would be- why continue to put nicotine into your body? When you finally decide to quit for real it takes 3 days for it to be out of your system.

Why not start now? I can tell you, this forum is an awesome support system and there are people here who will do whatever they can to help you in your quit. Quit now, stay quit, quit Every Damn Day.

Please click on the welcome center in red at the top and it will give you a little more explanation about the site and how we operate but rule number 1. This is a Non-nicotine site. Every one of us came here to quit and we all did it without aid. Rip the patch off and come back when you are ready to quit.
