My third day quit, 31 years old, chewed for around 16 years.

Recently started dating a new girl who exclaimed how disgusted she is by chewing.  Doesn't know I chew(ed),  I honestly don't really want to quit but figure when will there ever be a better time.  Anyway keep on keepin on.

Good luck....doosh.
hmm, I'm curious is doosh like douche? Is that encouragement?
Yep...that's encouragement. You need to read A LOT on this site. IF you quit for your girlfriend, are you gonna cave if you break up?? You need to quit for yourself. Get serious about it or you will fucking fail! This site isn't about half-assing it.

Sorry, douche.
Ahh I get it, that's clever.

Let me rephrase, I don't want to quit enjoying chew. I know that it's bad for my health and I take my health very seriously, I also want to prove to myself that I'm better than an addiction to nicotine.

In any case making the choice is the first step regardless of my reasons and you're an asshole, see you a hundred days.
"I don't want to quit enjoying chew"

By gosh he's got it now.

The reasons are important, think about it a little harder.
We are dealing with a fucking sharp one here!!! Fucking fog has got this guy, I think.
lol, if nothing else this is good distraction. I don't mean to offend nor make light of your or anyone else's struggle to kick this habit, I'm making the effort but you hurting my delicate sensitivities.
Just making sure you are getting the right mindset.

Now stay quit, or we'll will kick you in your delicate sensitivities.

'nutkick'

You need anything, dont' be afraid to shout out, people will be falling all over themselves to help.
That was some funny shit. Well done boys.

New guy (sorry can't go back and check your screen name) as you can see we don't fuck around here. You may take it the wrong way, and fuck you if you do, but you see in the end, all we want to do is make sure you stay quit. I think you are smart enough to realize that.

Carry on.
Thanks redtrain,

And Glenn as for taking it the wrong way, it's not difficult to discern people by the way they treat others. As for greg, it's obvious he's an elitist prick. And before you go telling me oh that's just the way he is, you can save it. Frankly it's pathetic when someone preys upon another who is only looking for support.

I'll make all of you a deal, you can save your asshole attitudes for the losers who let you treat them that way. Me I'll stop making role call the I day fall off the wagon.

See you in day 4.

~cheers
That's Mr. Elitist Prick to you.

Bottom line....don't stuff you piehole with chew. If you need help, ask. You will run in to all kinds of pricks on here.....none bigger than me. But if you need help, we are here to help. Obviously you are wouldn't be here if you didn't need help, so reach out and get it. You can do this.

Chode.

this has already been said and probably better stated, but...

you will not quit with this as your attitude. No way, no how. I had several past attempts...but until this time I never actually wanted to be quit. Just thought it was a good idea.

There is no trying to quit on this site. you are either quit or not quit. From your intro this reeks of "try." You really need to revaluate prior to posting roll.

When you are ready, not your new lady friend...come on down and join us awesome quitters.

I think Greg didn't want to waste a whole lot of time on somebody who doesn't seem ready to quit.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and try to get through...

1. You can't quit for someone else; you have to quit for yourself. If you quit for your girlfriend, what happens when you break up? Or when you get in a fight? You will end up picking fights so you have an excuse to go pack a lip.

2. Quitting is brutally hard. You have to want it more than you've ever wanted anything else. Going into it saying you don't really want to is bullshit and a guaranteed fail. It tells us that you're wasting our time.

3. Greg is an asshole, but he's a quit asshole. He and a lot of other assholes on this site can help you quit if you can get your head out of your ass long enough to listen.
1) I understand that, I've contemplated quitting for a long time but have always made excuses not to. I'm not doing it for a girl, what I meant was what better of a time to make the decision than one like this.

2  3) fair enough, point taken.

I think he's trying to tell you your mindset is way off and your likelihood of success is approaching zero. You can't quit if you don't really want to. This shit is hard as hell and you have to want it every day. Bad.

Also, you can't quit for someone else. You have to quit for yourself.

Read everything on this site. Everything. See if your mindset evolves at all, and then come back to your intro and post your thoughts.

Stay quit, bro.
