30year .... Thank you for your post / you are 100
Percent correct that there is no place for want but rather will.

Henry Ford once said
Something to the effect of it doesn't matter if you think you can or can't you are always right.

My reasoning for being done with this crap is all of the above reasons - the time taken, health issues , embarrassment , always worried that I had a fresh can etc etc etc..

You hit on something important ... Quitforsoj -/ soj is a person and not me ... That is where I was all wrong - the quit is for me and not for someone else. Yes they are happy but it is for me first.,,,

Nic is a powerful addiction - day 5 and I got a big crave today -
Not sure why but I was stuck in traffic, by the time it cleared the crave passed.

Thank you - great advice / I want to be done with this nic crap......

I was once quit for about 8 years and then one day ....
You were not quit for 8 years. You just stopped using during that time. Keep posting roll every day. Do NOT MISS ONE DAY OF ROLL CALL. Others will hold you accountable. Hold them accountable as well. Repeat the success the next day. You need to spend a huge amount of time learning about your addiction on this site. I know you use a iphone but there are other people on this site who only use a iphone and they spend the necessary time to learn about their addiction and the information on this site.
Quitforsoj,

I am becoming a regular on your intro. who is this soj that you are quit for? anyway....

"I want to be done with this nic crap"

Want... another word that sends alarm bells clanging through KTC. I wanted to quit for at least 25 of the 33 years that I used. It was not enough.

When I got here, I was thoroughly beat down by my addiction. There was nothing I wouldn't do to quit, but I felt as if I didn't have what it took. I felt that I was powerless in the face of my addiction.. The people here schooled me rather quickly... and as I post roll each day, I reflect on that with gratefulness.

I am convinced 100% that everyone can be quit if they choose. I am also convinced that there exists a rock bottom for this addiction just like any other. For some rock bottom comes in the form of the weariness of being a slave to nicotine. For others it is disgust with the amount of time stolen from those they love to feed their addiction, for some it is the inevitable embarrassment of having a lipper in, for others it is the diagnosis of mouth/throat/stomach cancer or heart disease/hypertension/circulation issues. For others it is being tired of the constant fear of cancer. Mine was a combination of many of these things, but especially social embarrassment and the fear of cancer.

But that is my story- not yours. I can't define your rock bottom - that is up to you. If you are at that point where you are ready to quit I can tell you with dead certainty that the word want has no place here. the statement should read "I AM done with this NIC CRAP!

Your success is only limited to your desire to quit.

And know that I can do this - however guard is up as I failed in my last quit when I Made the decision to dip - the one dip turned into many over the next 7 to 8 weeks. Back on the quit ..
I am glad your guard is up. Eventually quit is going to become routine. Your sense of the importance to keep your guard up is going to lessen - It happens to all of us, and it is the most dangerous attitude in a "mature quit". Some of those that have seemingly had solid quits here lost their bearings... not in the storm that signifies the trials of an early quit, rather during the calm seas when the nic bitch likes to whisper and call quits onto the rocks. People have sacrificed YEARS quit because they got overconfident. Because they got complacent. Because they forgot.

Never forget how hard you fought to rid yourself of this nasty addiction. Be confident in your ability yet humble in your weakness.... Otherwise she will feed on overconfidence, waiting for you to get complacent, to get lazy in your quit..she LOVES a lazy quit. The nic bitch will beat a lazy quit - every time.

I was out of town and actually just got news of a large new customer signing up with us- all good news but what do I do -// go to the C store and but a can of cope .... WTF not sure why I bought cope I Was always a kodiak guy.

Why - not sure but do know what I could have done to try and prevent it from happening - could have reached out but did not ..... Also I bet if I post roll past 100 that would have helped

What is going to be different - I will post roll as I did last to
Time but will continue to do so after I hit 100. Also being more active on The boards.

I really do not care if anyone buys my rational or not - I really do not care - only thing I know is that it about. 40 hours since I have had no and that is what matters to me.

Look in the mirror - you are not perfect.
Several things smell of failure

1. You aren''t interested in what others say. Still doing it your way.

2. you are still focused on being quit x number of days. There is no magic number of days after which you are cured. Nicotine is no respecter of time.

3. you are still treating quit as if there was some sort of happy accident of luck. True, we are not perfect, luckily we don't have to be perfect or even very bright to follow a 2 step program repeated daily. Caving cannot happen to you unless you choose to let it.

4. You still have no sense of what this addiction is? You chose copenhagen over kodiak? dunno why? Cause you weren't addicted to kodiak, you were addicted to NICOTINE! Doesn't matter the flavor of your failure.

5. You celebrated a victory with dip. That means you still regard dip as a reward. Keep romanticizing dip and failure will follow you until you decide that you are no longer going to look at dip that way.

You have to want this. I'm not seeing it.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and offer your thoughts - great point on cope .... It is the nicotine that knocked on my "door" and I was stupid enough to answer!

The associating the dip
With a victory is a powerful observation - thank you for pointing that out

Good point -
Focus on today as that is the only day I have control over ---

Can't change the past
Can't jump to the future

Today is all I got!

You will have 199 challenges before you hit 200 days.

You need to worry about todays challenge.

This is what you need to answer in NOV and your old quit group:

1. What happened?

2. Why did it happen?

3. What will you do to make sure it doesn't happen again?

I'd take a little time to think about this and not just go off pissing and moaning about it...
quitforsoj, you even see this? Do you even care?

When I look in the mirror all I see is wetness from pissing into the wind.
