OK...lesson learned.....

I write off the young guys right off the bat and never get involved in their quit. Too many odds against them.

Tater just inspired me and I will do better on being a Mentor.

Congrats man!!!!!!!!!
Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

taterhater139 - In a small town called Columbus GA, there used to be a dipper named taterhater139(Hey Idaho spuds check this out!)). He began his nicotine addiction at the young age of 15, and this ended up being a 10 year obsession with Grizzly Wintergreen. Good thing he found KTC because he says that he would still be dipping today if it werent for his brothers here.

Tater is a music teacher of grades K-12, and is currently engaged to be married soon. He brings the belief that anyone can quit, and also brings a case of beer to prove his point with him on the train today. He loves learning new musical instruments so I wouldnt be surprised if he had some new instrument on the train, like the pan dulcimer or the hammered jazz flute(pun may be intended). Tater has some words of wisdom for us here at KTC, and those are to make the quit about you, one day at a time. The most inspiring dudes for tater here at KTC are Evil_Won and Punkin. Evil reminded him to post roll when he got complacent and almost forgot to post. Well tater we are glad you did post roll and we are happy to welcome you on the train today and for the next 200! All aboard!!! We are heading to a colder neck of the woods(or it was colder until this week)

Welcome Josh, you're in the right place to be done with the nic bitch. Kinda hard to twittle the reed on your sax with a big wad in your mouth, right?

Anyway brother, take things one day at a time (ODAAT). There are going to be some tough days, but come in here and pound your keys at us instead of flapping your gums at loved ones. We can take it, especially because we've been there or are still going through what you are.

I quit with you today brother. If you need some digits, shoot me a PM and I'll send em right over.

Today I choose to quit because today is the only day I have control over today. Tomorrow is a new day and when tomorrow is today, I'll control it too, but not until then. I will win this fight with today...

Hello All!

My name is Josh from Macon Georgia and I am 24. I have been addicted to dip for 7 years and I have decided that enough is enough. I enjoy learning everything about music including learning to play new instruments.

Also, I am trying to figure out how to join a quit group but having little success any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome Josh  all the best to you! I see you've got all the veterans out already, so I'll trust the first couple days are going well.

Josh,
Well first of all congratulations on making a great and wise decision.  I could only wish to have been as wise when I was your age.

There is a bunch of information to soak in here on the site.  I recommend that you basically adopt the mentor type relationship with a few people from here and learn how to do it, and have a couple or few people to lean on because you will need those crutches along the way.

I am sending you a long PM which should help you as well as my own contact information should you choose to use it.

Until then, drink plenty of water, get a replacement (seeds, gum, lifesavers, jolly ranchers, fake dip, etc.) and quit like a hero each day.  Never ever worry about tomorrow or the next day focus on today and today only.

Finally remove any evidence that you have of being a dipper, remove any stashes, empty cans, spitters, etc.  Do not tempt yourself in any way shape or form.

Quit like a beast!

Great choice, Tater!!! You need to go the Welcome Center and start reading. Learn how and why we post roll first. Also, find some replacement stuff...fake snuff, mints, gum, whatever you have to do...but no nicotine.
