the first experince i had with dip was when i was 15 years old. with my friend and his older brother at thier house hanging out. we were playing video games and just living life. my friends older brother was dipping and offered me some. i tried it. after i put it in a felt sick and the wad slipped from my gum and onto my toung and throat. it burnt like hell and i ran upstairs and proceeded to hurl in the sink. i asked myself how anyone was able to dip. but a couple years later when i began work i decided to give it another try. i work in a restaraunt washing dishes and bussing tables and that night was an especially hectic shift. i was stressed from the endless flow of dirty dishes comin back into the kitchen and needed to relax so i bummed some grizzly wintergreen off a co worker and this time i felt something different. the head rush i got from the chew was like nothing i'd ever experienced and i realized that i liked dipping. not long after i found myself completly addicted going through a can of grizz a day. about a month ago i really started stressing about the long term effects that dipping would have on my health and realized that it was my time to quit. it hasnt been easy and all that i can do is go a day at a time fight the craves that the bitch throws at me and keep staying strong. i have an addictive personality so the urge to cave gets stronger with each day it seems but i think that because im aware of my personality it will give me the extra push i need to not cave. i have a deep seated hatred for the tobacco industry and how they kill thier costumers and then try to make thier product appealing to kids so that thier next generation of consumers is using well before the time they are even grown up. i dont know how big tobacco executives can sleep at night knowing the pain they cause and the lives and famalies they destroy so in order to deliver the biggest fuck you to all the tobacco execs out there im going to live my life tobacco free. tobacco companys think they can hold us down and keep us addicted but they couldnt be more wrong. we are FREE from thier shit and there is Nothing they will be able to do to keep us from living FREE.

God I remember that.

Every day I can remember having terrible burning eyes for the first several minutes after putting contacts in.

Two days after quitting it was gone. I have never since had one burning eye.

But yes, if you have other threads in the introduction, just add your comments into on of them. Some people here like to keep their intro like a diary... if that's your thing.

today i had a hell of a wake up. over the weekend before my quit began i must have gotten a shred of dip in my contacts case when i was taking my lenses out. that little shred must have gotten caught under my contact after being in there a few days and when i put my lense in this morning... haha well as u can imagine it was a unpleasent suprise. stung like a bitch and gave me even more motivation to make this quit work (:

Great choice, Grizz! If you flushed that shit today, then today is Day 1 of your new freedom. Post roll, keep your word, read everything you can on this site and enjoy living free.

There are no short-cuts and nobody can do this for you. But you take the first step, and we're here for you the rest of the way. Embrace the suck...it is the price of freedom.

Learn to laugh at yourself and at the stupid choices you made in the past. Nobody can change that. What's done is done. But you can start being the person you want to be today. You just gotta commit and keep your word. Quitting is done one minute, one crave, one day at a time.

You can't change the past, and we don't know the future. But you can sure as shit give your word that you will stay quit today. So do it and keep your word. Then, we'll all be here doing it all over again tomorrow. It is that simple. Welcome to freedom, brother!!!

ive always been a big guy. at 6 foot 4 my friends usually say im a giant and ive generally been a pretty strong person. but my size and strength wasnt enough to stop me from letting a tiny can of tobacco grab a hold of my life. it goes to show anyone can be caught in this addiction. im now gonna use my size strength and will power to fight back at this addiction. im gonna take the cravings and shove them back in addictions face. its gonna be a fight but its a fight that all of us here are gonna win and were gonna win it together!
