I'm so tired of tobacco it's a demon and I want it gone. The last few years I'm up to 3 cans a day and have unexplained thyroid and endocrine symptoms, I think it may be from my nasty habit. I've stopped for a few days a few times but I become a ass around people and my employees hide from me. I have a hypoglycemia test in the morning so I brushed my teeth real good since I can't brush them in the morning, I thought to myself that I should truly stop dipping so I'm going to do so. I've dipped for 27 years and plan to be over this demon by my 43 birthday on St Patrick's day.Â
Well, let the party start

You've come to the right place, but your head isn't in the right place yet.
1. It isn't a demon, it's an addictive poison that you willfully and knowingly put into your mouth for 27 years.
2. It isn't a nasty habit, it's an addiction. Once that you will have for the rest of your life, but that doesn't mean you have to keep using, you just have to never use again, one day at a time.
3. You'll never be over the demon. You have to quit every day, one day at a time. Don't get the attitude that you'll be over it and life will be back to normal, because the moment you stop focusing on your quit, the moment the opportunity presents itself and you think, "ah, I'm not addicted anymore, I can do it just once", you've got to remember that one more is too much, and one more is never enough.
That being said, welcome. Go read the welcome area, learn to post roll, and then go post roll in June 2014 quit group. You post roll, it's your word. This place is built on trust, post roll and promise not to use tobacco, then stick to your word. You do that every damn day, one day at a time and you'll be quit.
This is some impressive shit. Sapper, a KTC member for 10 days and is 22 days into his quit at the time of this post has imparted some serious wisdom. These are the type of words one more commonly hears from a 1 year + veteran. Question is how does Sapper know what he knows. Here are a few (of many) reasons:
1) he posts roll every day with his quit group and he knows the meaning of accountability
2) he is active at KTC, posting 200+ times since joining
3) he has a network of quit buddies who he can call should a crave crisis interfere with his quit
4) he understands that he is an addict and knows the difference between quitting and stopping nicotine
5) he is committed 100% to his quit day in and day out
6) he has experienced 22 days of quit, Â…which we all must endure at some point and we all know the challenges of 22 days of quit. He knows that he must quit for 22 days and win that day's battles until he can face day 23.
7) he is a badass quitter. respected among his May quit group and the KTC community because he holds true to his word, his promise to stay quit for that day.
I've never exchanged a PM, email, or text with Sapper. Yet, I respect him for the badass quitter he is. I respect all of those at KTC who hold this promise and quit like fuck with me every damn day. Sking, I think the challenge is now in your court. How bad do you want this? Are you as much a badass quitter as Sapper? If you want to be quit, then you better be. I may sound like I'm coming across as a dick, but it's because I want you to quit; and this aint going to be easy. But I promise you, it will be one of the hardest and most rewarding things you ever do in your life. Â…and I think Sapper would agree with me on that.
