Welcome aboard Determined. It won't be a picnic for a few weeks but it will get better. Follow the advice of the guys that posted below...for they know of what they speak my friend. Look up at the Inbox(1) and open it. You will find my telephone number. Call me if you need to scream, cry, vent or just shoot the shit. But remember, call this number before you even think about going out and getting a can of shit. Now, read all the information you can in the Welcome Center tab, especially on how to post Roll. You will need to post up Day 2 in the January 2014 quit group. That group just opened up a couple of days ago, so there are not that many new quitters signed up yet...but there will be soon. Congratulations and welcome to your new life. Wayne

PS. 17 years of Marlboro and 28 years of Cope abuse. Now on Day 314 of my quit and it is fantastic without the shit in my mouth and my life! You can do this too, so suck it up and lets get your quit party started!

Completely agree with these guys. Just re-read Beans post for me, and I'lll move along. He and I are in the same group, and have been posting together for quite a while.

Reach out if you need any help.

Great choice, Determined. The Fog sucks...but embrace it. It is the feeling of healing. You need to click on the Welcome Center link above and read everything...then re-read it.

Nobody gets freedom for the asking. You must EARN it. And you will...One Day at A Time. In fact, that is your new life's focus...ODAAT. Figure out how to Post Roll (if you need help, say so). Then Post Roll, stay quit all day, and do it again.

You can't change the past. What's done is done...so fuck it. And we can't do anything about the future because it's not here yet. So, forget about tomorrow, next week, next month, etc. We'll deal with them when they get here. ALL you need to focus on is doing whatever the hell you have to do to not stick any nicotine in your body today.

It's gonna suck...you know that. So turn the tables on the Nic Bitch. Choose to enjoy your new freedom. I'm pumped you're here, brother. You took the first step, we've got your back the rest of the way. Post roll, stay quit, repeat.

Welcome! Some of the wiley vets will hop in here and say the right things you want to hear that really make you want to beat this and kick nicotine's ass, but I am on day 3. We will be in the same group of January 14. reach out to me at anytime in a PM for chat if you are feeling a little weary.

Check out my intro and let's quit this thing together. Remember I quit with you today and we will do it again tomorrow. There is no trying, we are fully committed to today.
Vets nothing...you have jzzyzag01 in your group and mark my words, he is going to be one of the best quitters ever.

AZ....I quit with you buddy. Go out and look at the beautiful state that you live in. If I were you, I would hop on my mountain bike and no one would be me for about 100 days and then I would come back and post my HOF speech.

BTW....if you do this you still have to post roll each day.

Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

I started dipping cope at age 13 and i am 55 now. I have qiut once before and made it 3 years before relapsing. I am on day two now and thought i would intorduce myself to the group. My head is in a fog and this morning i had to put a piece of beef jerky in my lip in order to drink my coffee. I tried some herbal snuff yesterday and it tasted like crap. gonna stick to jerkey, gum and seeds.

I am just trying to fly under the radar right now and do a little bit of hiding at work. I dont want to screw anything up.

I will check in later, thanks guys
You can do this Determined. One day at a time (ODAAT) is a motto you'll hear a lot on here and just remember that today is the only day that you have any control over. You can't control the last 42 years, nor can you control tomorrow morning (yet). Just work through today and each day thereafter and you'll start accumulating them quickly.

Everybody here has their story for why this is so difficult and it sounds like you do too, but remember that freedom awaits you each and every day you choose to not give in to the tin.

Stay strong and reach out to people on this site, especially the vets that have seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

peace and quit.

Today I choose to quit because today is the only day I have control over today. Tomorrow is a new day and when tomorrow is today, I'll control it too, but not until then. I will win this fight with today...
