In your mid 70's of your Quit eh? Well let me tell ya, it just keeps getting better. You wrote about all the emotional issues you were having. I was amazed as I progressed through my quit how many mental, emotional, and psychological changes I would go through. It certainly is physical and we all expect that but I just never knew how deeply rooted addiction had become in my life. There wasn't a single part of life that was separate from addiction. Nicotine was used to experience and deal with every step of life. You understand this now. And you will learn more about yourself and this addiction each day that you are Quit. I am amazed at how well you've done on this journey of Quit by yourself. I encourage you to jump fully into your Quit group for the support. Pass your number out to others and get theirs. Build a network of friendships around you here. Give and receive support. Your no where near out of the dark yet. In fact, we are never cured of being an addict. Only takes one slip to go back to Day 1. Keep giving it all you got.
Well said!!!

One of the best intros I've read lately (yeah it's long, but it's full of truth). Welcome KM! Glad you made it here. You have a unique perspective on what it was like quitting without full support for the first what, 11 weeks? You ought to be able to share that with other quitters, once you've been here awhile, and relate your experiences to theirs.

I gotta say my hat's off to you. Without this site, no way I'd have stayed quit. I can't explain how promising you won't use (to a group, at least initially) of complete strangers, has such an effect, but I can tell you it does. Especially if you have integrity. And oh, BTW, that group of complete strangers doesn't stay strangers....they become an extended family. The more you share with them, the more connected you are. That web of connection and accountability also is a strong weapon in the quit arsenal.

Proud of what you've accomplished to date and looking forward to what you'll do now that you're here!

WOW KmGrizz!

It sounds like you had a lot to get off of your chest - well you've found the right place. Being a "lurker" can provide some great inspiration, but if you want to really get all you can out of this site, you need to share and connect. So glad you decided to do so!

You've found your quit group and posted roll, so you're on the way! Since you joined a group that's been together awhile, I'd recommend a brief introduction in that forum and to start reaching out to your new quit brothers immediately.

Welcome and glad you've decided to join us here and have already started contributing!

Reach out if I can help with anything
