Rapido,

Congrats on making it 10 days! You have this!

Welcome to the group. Here are some words of wisdom I like to share:

The main way to be successful is to just decide that you have quit. Once you stop the negotiating in your head as to whether you will do one more or not the rest becomes far more simple.

The next important thing is to learn how to distract your attention. When you get those thoughts about dipping, switch your attention and think about something else. Anything else that you like. This ability to change your focus will guarantee your success and make your quit that much easier.

When you place a dip in your mouth, your brain releases sugars. Well, those sugars are now going to be gone.

However, you can replace them with OJ or other fruit juices with sugar. This will provide some comfort, especially on your initial quit days.

Make sure to exercise with weights and cardio when you feel that nagging tension in your muscles, you feel that rage, when you can not sleep and when you cannot focus. Exercise really helps.

Here is one that most people overlook. Get at least 3 square meals a day. Hunger can really bring on those urges so squash those urges before they come. Eat full healthy meals and do not let yourself get excessively hungry. You will see this helps a great deal.

I waited until I was 59 quit after using tobacco for 40 years. You are wise to quit now.

I quit with you today.

Day 9 is almost in the books and it was actually a pretty good day as long as I didn’t have to talk to or see anyone! I don’t know why but I was annoyed by everyone and everything today. Stayed Quit all day!

Day 3 is almost in the books and I’m still in the fog but took a 5 hr road trip today solo and did it without Snuff. Talked to one of my best buds and told him I quit and he couldn’t believe it. I told him he could as well and I would help him.... weve been friends 10 years and have never once talked about quitting. I read the post where the daughters were writing to there Daddy who had died from this poison we have all injested for so long... I cried like a baby thinking of my 3 daughters. What a selfish fucker I have been for the past 20 years after becoming a Daddy. I quit today and will tomorrow as well!
Read about the 5 hour solo road trip and cringed.  Remember those all too well.  Why is it that the long drive is such a trigger for nicotine addicts?  You're three days, 72 hours into it.  The nicotine is now totally removed from your system.  The rest is a mind game.  You're dealing with addiction, make no mistake.  "it's just tobacco" is a fools rationalization; the dopamine pathways in the brain are the same as those taken for heroin or cocaine.  Read about the science of addiction.  Knowledge is power, ignorance is terribly expensive. The good news is - you only have to quit for today, for the next hour, for the next minute if need be.  Tomorrow has enough troubles of its own. Get some digits and get some accountability. Freedom is on its way....and it is sooooo worth it.

This is now Day 7 and I made the road trip home as well without the Nic Bitch riding shotgun! It was still a tough couple of days but a pretty good test and I feel good about passing it. It truly is a one minute, one hour, one day at a time decision. I have always been super competitive and I finally put Copenhagen on my opponent list and I hate fucking losing! Happy Saturday to all my fellow quitters

On my 2nd day and wow was last night crazy! I tried to sleep and was up every hour and when I did sleep had crazy fucking dreams... wife said I was talking jibberish. Got out of bed and drove to the office. First day working without snuff. Hanging so far but still feel foggy.
Hang in there bro....on average, days 1-3 are the worst. It isn’t pleasant. But just remember a couple of things...1) it is SOOOOOOO worth it, 2) you have brothers here that have been through it and will help you get through it. Come here as often as you possibly can. I know a couple of us have sent you digits...use them before you even think about giving up. The Nic Bitch is strong....but you are so much stronger. Stay the course. I quit with you brother!!!

Thanks Dawgs... appreciate the words of encouragement and support! I really do want to quit for the first time I can ever remember. I’m going to make it

Welcome to the best decision of your life. Even though it seems awful right now....it is still the best decision you’ll ever make. It will be tough. You’ll be foggy, lethargic...pissed off. It does get better. Judging by your date of today as day one....you need to go over to the pre-HOF section and post with the June 2019 group. That’s where you post roll. EVERYDAY. It’s your promise to your brothers that you wont use nicotine that day. Roll is sacred. You will be noticed if you don’t post. That’s why this works. Reach out if you think you are gonna cave. This is all about accountability. We will help you if you will use us. We quit ODAAT...One Day At A Time. Be strong!! Don’t give in. Pm me if you need anything at all.

Day 1 after 25 years
« on: March 17, 2019, 02:19:14 PM »
Day 1 after 25 years dipping a can of Snuff a day. I quit when I went to bed last night and so far I haven’t killed anyone today! I do feel very cloudy and groggy. I am craving like an SOB right now.
