I have been quit 33 days today. I have only used herbal snuff on occasions to help with urges. It is crazy that today, day 33 I'm having urges like I just quit yesterday. This is the 1st time I have had a urge to want to dip, in about a week. I know it will pass, and putting that garbage back in my mouth is NEVER a option. I just look forward to the day to not have any urges. Maybe some of the vets, can tell me how long until the urges go away, and the thought of tobacco never enters my mind again.
At day 864, I can say that I haven't passed that day yet. I mentioned to someone a couple days ago that I'm drawn to that shit like a moth to a flame. That said, the urges are much less frequent and have much less magnitude than they used to. In the meantime, thanks to KTC, I have a bunch of weapons in my arsenal to win the daily battle.

Listen to ^^^ this guy.

First off - congratulations on 33 days of freedom.  That's fantastic!  You are doing what most people cannot do, sadly.  Celebrate the win!

I'm at day 1,093 and I still get craves.  Nowhere near as often and nowhere near as badly as day 33.  The typical pattern in the process seems to be that you go through "funk" periods when the craves start kicking in again for a period of time.  Then they will back off.   Then they will start up again for several days, etc.  But over time the funk periods become fewer and further between and less severe.  But sometimes those out of left field craves can feel a bit scary - because you can't believe that on, say, day 800-and-something that this poison still has a hook in you!  That's why at day 1,093 I still post my daily promise.

I'm not sure I want to forget about tobacco.  I don't want to forget how nicotine made me its slave.  I don't want to forget how hard it was to break the chain.  Because I don't want to go back there again.  But I promise you that if you stick to this, if you keep posting those +1s, that one day you will feel phenomenal - and realize that it is just onward and upward.   The only way it can feel like $%&* again is if you put nicotine back into your body and kick-start the withdrawal process again.

Keep up the great work.

These guys have been quit way longer than I have, but at day 326, for me, around day 200 was worse for me than the initial funk. That's why it's imperative to post your promise each and every day. Don't get complacent. Don't think after the HOF that you have this. Don't ever think it's okay to post and ghost, because you will slowly start getting cocky and when these cravings do hit, you don't have the people in place that can help you overcome.

We are addicts and we always will be addicts. No addict takes a day off from chew so get in the mindset that this is forever. Don't take a day off. Be resolute in posting your promise and do things that get you involved. Talk in your group, talk to vets, if it's something you'd like to do, become a conductor. All these things drive further quit nails into the coffin. Give back and much as people before you gave!

Glad you're kicking ass!
I pledge to be quit today!

Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.
