Okay @JustSaiyan ,

NurseFarmer and Finoc1984 have posted their promise to be nicotine free.  Are you ready to post yours?

Throw that NRT crap down the toilet where it belongs and come quit with people who know how to quit.

Are you ready to Quit?

What is holding you back?

What are we waiting for?

This place works, if you let it. How do I know? I was you almost a year ago.. I’m a member of the January 2019 HoF group.

This January pre HoF is shaping up to be a badass group. It would be better with you in it.

Throw out that nicotine replacement crap and let’s do this!!!!

Hey I chewed nicotine gum for a whole year six years ago. I thought then that I’d just miraculously stop chewing the gum somehow...after a year I went back to dipping and wasn’t until 34 days ago that I threw the gum and dip away. That said, I did chew the gum for five days prior to my quit date maybe it helped me psychologically to help me think I could quit but who knows. I think it actually prolonged my withdrawal bc that week of the gum was gradually more painful rather than just rip the bandaid off....the ripping the bandaid off is making the decision....the first three days suck and then you quit again every morning. I was planning on chewing the gum for a couple more days before I actually quit but decided on my quit night to throw it away after reading similar messages encouraging someone to just quit now...so that’s what i did. I wish I had done that from the start and I’d be 39 days in stead of 34.

Agreed. You need to throw away the gum and patches. They are only extending your addiction. Go here: https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=15899.0 to your January Quit Group, and post your day 1.

Hey everyone im going to quit dipping now. Today is day 1 I am using nicotine gum and patches to start off with and will eventually stop using those also. I can do this and I want some like minded people too help me stay motivated.

Welcome @JustSaiyan !

You’ve come to the right place! You will get the support you need here.

Nicotine gum? Might as well throw that in the trash right now. Won’t help, and we do not tolerate it inside the HoF group section. The first 3 days are going to suck.. there’s just no way to sugar coat it... but it does get MUCH better., just take it one day at a time.

I’m going to move this post into the intros section.. many use it like a quit journal to log their journey, it’s great to go back and read it.

when you are ready to come inside and quit our way.. come join your pre HoF group (January 2020) here https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=15899.0

Using nic gum/patches unfortunately means you are still using.  Get rid of those and then come post your Day 1.

Let's say you wanted to quit drinking alcohol and beer was your beverage of choice.  You wouldn't start a plan where you switched to vodka and take just a little shot each day and say you quit, right?  Same goes here...nicotine is the culprit that we need to mitigate.  It is the addiction that we have to it that will never be cured but can be tamed.  Big Tobacco wants your money and will do anything to get it.  They see people are 'stopping' their cigs and chew programs and want peoples money still.  So they came up with this horrible idea for the consumer to have nic gum/patches to keep the cashflow coming in.  Smart by them...horrible for the consumer.  Nicotine causes heart disease and is the silent killer that isn't talked about.

Throw it all away...get on board here and start posting up each day first thing.  Make that promise and then do it again tomorrow.  I've been doing that for 1367 days in a row and the freedom is amazing.  That prison of nicotine is brutal and once you taste this freedom, you realize you don't want it to go away ever again.  There is no cure as we are all addicts.  Jump in...enjoy the ride and find out what freedom really feels like!
Good...good, let the quit flow through you!  -chewie
