@Dahc ,

What happened to posting your promise on Roll today?

Posting roll first thing in the morning is the single most important thing you can do each and every day.  If you are a man of your word, posting your promise in the morning takes nicotine off the table for the day.

Exchanging phone numbers with other quitters gives you instant access to support if you need it.  (My number is available for the asking).

Get back in here and post roll for today.  I really hope you didn't go buy another can at lunch and shove a big cat turd in your lip.

Let's get this quit going Chad,

Chris

I wrote this today at 240 PM. I plan on posting my promise 1st thing in the morning, but I'm waiting until morning gets here. Still got about 12 hours or so before I'll post.

Chad

Do not wait Chad.  I would venture to guess that most everyone on this site had their doubts on the success of their quits.  We are succeeding by making a 24 hour promise to our brothers and sisters everyday, and before you know it you will be hitting great milestones.  The Nic Bitch is very sneaky so make that promise to yourself and us now, you can do this.

Did you put a dip in weekly? Or just once a day? Hell NO! If you are like me, you had that shit packed in your lip all the time.

The problem with playing this “just the tip” game in quitting is that you are going to lose and get screwed.  You have to commit and be all in! Post that promise first thing when you wake up. Each time you think about dip (those typical triggers: after meals, ballgames, Ect. ) hop on the site and see what’s going on. Engage, interact with other quitters. Stop being a slave to the nic bitch.

YOU CAN DO THIS- WE CAN HELP:

We do this thing One Day At A Time.

Don't worry about "forever". No one can quit forever. Every single one of us can quit today though. Do that instead.

Sometimes that sucks though. Sometimes you have to quit for just the next hour. Or the next few minutes for that crave. Do that too.

The more contacts you have and USE, the easier this is going to be. It sounds stupid, but it works. You will be QUIT as long as you do this:

1) Wake up
2) Piss
3) Post roll
4) KEEP YOUR WORD
5) Repeat daily

Drink lots of water for the next few days. The "fog" is real, but you can push through it. I'm in it to win it- Are you?

Weekly? If you want it to work it takes daily commitment man. Throw that shit away and come back and post. We will help you.

My brother died of cancer that started in his neck. He was two years younger than you. If you really want to quit, stop fooling yourself and follow the simple steps to breaking the addiction. Make a daily promise, come back first thing in the am, and repeat. Get digits, send texts too. No need to give out any info about yourself. Just people trying to save lives here man.

Why are you waiting?  Make your promise today for the rest of today.  Don't give your addict brain a reason to cave by not posting today.  You said you dumped all your nicotine today so that makes today your Day 1.

Chris
@Dahc like @chris2alaska said, make it now. If you give your brain a little wiggle room, it will talk you out of this. Don’t let that happen. Welcome to KTC. You will see a lot of tough love here. You will see men and women from all walks of life here. Everybody has a different life story.  But, there is one thing that each one of us have in common. We are addicts. We are all fighting one day at a time(ODAAT). We can all relate to what each other is going through. Make this a priority each morning. Make connections with others in your group and with folks in other groups. Make that jump NOW!!

Chad,

Today is your day 1. It's the day you decided to quit.

We post daily. Follow the link Aaron provided to your May Quit Group. Find the most recent roll post, and add your name and day count. That acts as a promise to yourself, all the members of your group, and everyone posting support that you will not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. Come back early in the morning tomorrow, and post the same promise.

You can do this.

Proud to quit with you.

Hi guys, I have never wrote on this site. Not even sure I'm putting this in the correct place. I am 44 and have used some form of skoal since i was 15. The longest I had ever went without skoal was 9 days until December 15, 2019. I made it 28 days and had a relapse. I actually used skoal this morning and when I got to work I started reading on here again. I have flushed everything. I will not consider today day1 since I used today, but tomorrow will be day 1. This quit is for me! My wife doesn't mind and my twin boys are too young (2 years old) to understand. I want this for me, but I need help. My plan is to post weekly if not daily. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Dahc is my login name but that is actually Chad spelled backwards. Thank you in advance for your support.

Chad
Chad,
First off, welcome to KTC. Best decision you could make is flushing that shit and posting here. Today is your day 1, regardless, you start your quit today. The thing about KTC is we’re all about accountability. We WUPP, Wake Up Piss Post, and that means you post your daily promise on roll for your quit group. You’re going to be apart of the May 2020 quit group which can be found here: https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16257.0

Make sure you pop over there and post your promise for the day not to use nicotine. Make sure you message your fellow quitters and swap digits to get that web of accountability going.
