I quit dipping Copenhagen and Skoal on Dec 31, after 35 years.  It wasn't a New Years resolution initially, I just ran out of dip on New Years Eve, and the next day I was a little hungover and didn't want any dip, not sure I even got out of bed.

On Jan 2, I just decided to quit out of nowhere. The nicotine withdrawals, stomach issues, sleeplessness, depression, and headaches were no joke.  I don't want to go through all that again... but I'm starting to waiver a bit!  When people dip around me, my cravings are starting to ramp up.  When I go to the gas station now, I find myself looking behind the counter wanting a can!  Not letting my guard down, but I believed 100% I had this crap out of my life forever because I thought the hard part was over! I'm not sure it's ever over!  Is it?
Welcome!

That's right. As long as there is no cure, it is never completely over. We turned ourselves into nicotine addicts so now we have to be responsible and do something about it. It's much easier to quit than it is to continue on. What you can do about it besides continuing to white knuckle it on your own is to join a quit group and be accountable every day. That's the most effective thing I've ever been made aware of. It would help you in the long run too.

Quitting on January 2, 2020 would put you at 119 days and in the April 2020 HOF group. I would tell you the same as I told Mr. Incredable earlier this morning:

Go to the April 2020 HOF, hit the 'REPLY' button at the top of the page and introduce yourself. Tell them what you've been doing to stay quit for the last 119 days.

You can also ingratiate yourself to the group by posting roll call in the Badass Quitters section.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTING ROLL:

Hit F5 (Refresh) and find the most recent roll post.
Hit the "Quote" button on the top right corner of the post you are trying to quote.
Add your day count and promise.

If you already quit on your own, then run for the hills from KTC. You dont want to join this kind of cult man. Dig deep enough into the interwebs, and this place has an unsavory history of cyber-bullying, deceit, anti-social tolerance, and has caused many peoples anxiety and depression to worsen. If you enjoy being treated like absolute garbage for being human, then sign right up.
Cult? You can come and go of your own volition. No one is ever going to ask you for money. There is no "one" dear leader. What we ask for is accountability that anyone can do. KTC is proven to be effective. Run for the hills like this spurned loser who can't do anything but lie and cave, or be a man of your word and quit. Easy choice.

Case in point the kind of mindset you will habitually encounter in the KTC Cult here. Question any kind of the authority here and theyll kick you to the curb ridiculously fast. Is that really the kind of people you want to surround yourself with?

This response is directed at DirtRoad89

I want to be surrounded by the kind of people that have been through what I am going through in quitting so that I have resources available to me whenever I need them.  That is not a cult, that is people helping other people quit a dead weed in a can that kills more than 250,000 people a year (look it up, it's a fact).

As Zeus said, you are free to leave.  No one made you sign up here, you chose to do that on your own.  In doing so, you agreed to follow the established method of quitting nicotine.  If the way we do things is not for you, that's fine, you are welcome to leave but don't be a little bitch about it because we called you out on accountability.
If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

Accountability is a statement of personal promise, both to yourself and to the people around you, to deliver specific defined results.
Brian Dive

Do not be complacent about your achievements and not to strive for continual improvement when you get to the top. As soon as you let success go to your head, you sink into following familiar patterns and play it safe. In other words, you risk losing your edge.
Roy T. Bennett

You need anything, ask.  You feel strong, help.  This quit is for you but we got your back.
