Three days ago I made the commitment to quit for good. No more. Never again. Not taking an hour off, a day off, a week off - I'm quitting for good.

What changed? I think I finally made the connection that chewing tobacco makes me feel WORSE, not BETTER. I finally woke up to the fact that I hate the stuff, and that it does not serve me well. Once I realized this... quitting became the obvious answer.

I've been sober in AA for many years, so I know the power of community and not doing it alone. I woke up this morning and headed into the office (normally one of my favorite places to chew) and started to have some serious cravings.

Would love to get connected with some guys and have some port.

Thanks for all of your support!

Nick

Hi Nick,

The decision to quit is the right one.  From your post it looks like you have the right mind set as well.  You are quitting for you and no one else.  THat is the way to do it.

Get in to the September 2020 Group and learn how to post roll.  Posting our daily promise to be nicotine free for the day is the price of admission to this forum.

The process is simple:

1. Wake up
2. Piss
3. Post your promise
4. Keep your word for the next 24 hours
5. Repeat daily

Simple but hard as hell.  It will suck.  Embrace the suck and nurture that hatred for all things nicotine.  Eventually it will suck less and will continue to suck less until it doesn't suck anymore.

Start exchanging  phone numbers with other quitters through private message.  This is how we keep each other accountable and it gives you instant access to support if you need it.

Remember, this is an accountability forum, which lends itself to supporting but is not specifically a support forum.  We don't pat you on the ass if cave and tell you everything is alright.  You will be held accountable for your actions as would anyone else in here.  This place is not for everyone, but those that can handle it, it works.

So, now the choice is yours.  If I see your name on roll in September I will know you made a wise decision.

PM me for my digits if you want them,

Chris
If you want my digits, just ask and they will be yours, but I expect yours in return.

Accountability is a statement of personal promise, both to yourself and to the people around you, to deliver specific defined results.

Do not be complacent about your achievements and not to strive for continual improvement when you get to the top. As soon as you let success go to your head, you sink into following familiar patterns and play it safe. In other words, you risk losing your edge.
Roy T. Bennett

You need anything, ask.  You feel strong, help.  This quit is for you but we got your back.
