Okay, Forum question.  I know it's SOMETHING on my side....hoping somebody has had a similar problem.

I completely loose the heart, allowing me to like a post.  Using current Chrome, on a updated Win10 machine.  If I use my work machine, which has the SAME CHROME,  and SAME version of Win10....it's perfect.

I've cleared Cache.  I've cleared history. I've cleared cookies.  I did all at the same time.  Still missing.  Anybody had this, and can tell me WTF i'm missing?

Hmm... @Freddi is it a specific group / thread you can't HEART on or is it the entire site? It's entirely possible that the specific thread isn't' set up to allow likes.

No, it's all of them.  It's goofy. Same page, but in Edge.  No problem.  Same page on my phone, no problem.  Same page on my work laptop that has the same chrome browser, on the same OS, no problem.

It's just inconvenient, because i normally use my personal laptop with chrome.  I can usually figure stuff out like this, and I just cant.

Now to make your head really hurt.  If i go to a page on my phone, and 'like' it......then it DOES show me 'unlike' on my laptop.  If i click 'unlike', it goes away forever.    Weird.

At any rate, I know it's on my side, and thought I would ask....just in case someone had the same problem, and figured it out, before me.

Just found it.  Adblocker.  Never thought to turn it off, as there are no other ads on the page....so it's normally just on.

Crazy, why it ONLY dumped the 'like'. EVERYTHING else is exactly the same.  (And I was using probably the most common blocker "adblock plus")

Disabled for the forum, back to normal.  Sorry for the runaround.

That's why I posted back, just in case someone else has it.  Pretty common blocker too. I've never had a similar problem on any of the other forums I'm on.   

NOW, I have to slowly rebuild all the good cookies, and auto-logins, etc.  That's the part that I HATE about clearing the browser. 

I wish I could of helped ya Freddi but I'm afraid that I have to admit that I am doing good just to turn on the computer and find where I'm supposed to post!!!

I wish i found this site beforehand. It gives honest withdrawal depictions. Everywhere else is just sugarcoated nonsense. I quit on several occasions, been dipping for close to 12 years now. I started back in college. I usually get to about the 3-4 month mark and cave on a crave. I am on Day 3 of quitting. I have the irritability, dream like perception. I find the words to describe the feeling almost non existent. Like your mind takes a mental snapshot, and feels like it is running to catch up to your body. And the amount of coffee I need is absurd. I mean I drank a whole pot on Days 1 & 2. And i feel like i could sleep the day away. I would never ever recommend dipping to anyone.

My wife doesnt seem to understand the magnitude of these feelings. She equates it to when she quit smoking. I smoked too, and quite with pretty much no issue. I mean comparing the two, i feel like cigarette withdrawals is child's play when it come to dip.

Glad you found us @rawright and go on over and post up in June 2021. Do it early so that your promise sticks and build a network of quitters. Swap digits as that will help more then you think having help a finger punch away. Quitting chew is much harder then smoking as I tell everybody that a dip in the lip is like having an intravenous drip all the time. We are here to help and you will find (unfortunately) that plenty of spouses have no clue what it is like or just don't support the way we need it. That is why you get digits and if you want mine let me know in a pm. Welcome aboard and I quit with you everyday.

Into it?  You should re-set that thinking.  Staying quit should be priorty one in your life.  Because we are addicts.  Nicotine is our drug of choice.  Quitting isn't something your into, like guitar, or music, or the party scene, which can be fleeting.  It's life and death.

Glad you are staying the course.
