Hey Stoneman, glad to see you are posting roll. Stick with it, stick with this community, get involved, and just trust the process. You'll probably have a few rough patches ahead - most of us did and do - you get a great streak going and then the funks just pop up out of nowhere. Be prepared and just know this is a part of the process. Also trust that over time it gets better and better and better.
Some of my toughest days were right about where you are now. My 50s sucked out loud. But just understand it is a temporary funk. You will get through it. This is NOT your new normal. You are not permanently damaged. It WILL get better and better. Including the anxiety.
I had horrible anxiety in the early going. Days I could barely pry myself out of my bed. It sucks. It hurts. It is scary. So many of us are or were where you are right now. If you and your doctor think you could use a little help from medication, then do it. If you don't want to go the med route, there are things that can help. Cut back on caffeine, get more sleep, start exercising more. I'm not a doc, but I found ashwagandha helped calm me, as well as Kava Kava teas and other natural products. Breathing exercises, meditation, and if you are inclined, pray a lot. And just understand that nicotine changed your brain - and it takes time for the brain to rewire.
Proud to be quit with you today. And look forward to seeing you on roll tomorrow. PM me if you need anything.
