Mnx,

I do agree with the notion of Him being instrumental in leading one to the tools/support system to quit and I would never want to downplay that. The only reason I posted is that I had tried everything and He was the only answer for me.

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot and if you’re not interested in faith then you should stop reading here.

I quit on Ash Wednesday, 2020. Previous to that date I had used for 15 years and had tried many times and ways to quit. I had pain in my face, would “cut back” for a few weeks and then be right back to being a regular user. I had a scary mouth sore, same thing... etc.

I’m a Christian and have been for many years, so this wasn’t a “born again” moment. But it wasn’t until I put my total faith in God to cure me that it happened. I just said I can’t do this, please do it for me. I prayed daily and He made it happen.

This is not to downplay accountability groups or anything like that. This is just what worked for me and IT WORKED.

You can email me if you’d like to know more, and I’m sorry if faith is a touchy subject here. To each their own, but I encourage you to give it a shot.
amen brother! Asked god to help me on my journey as well and he lead me to KTC and has helped me every one of my 97 days
I am right there with ya brother. My faith in God has been my strength for 397 days. This was after 30 plus years of abuse. Do not in anyway say that your sorry for standing up and saying God is your strength. For when we stand up in our faith our faith will be strengthened. You have made the right choice and I will support you along with many many here at KTC. You need anything let me know and my digits are yours for the asking. Stay strong, stay quit and God bless.

The method here is make a promise and keep it for 24 hours at a time. Anyone can quit for a day. No religion required. However, many here have found additional strength through prayer and faith.

I am a man of faith myself @Lithium351 and God's grace has certainly been instrumental in my quit the past (almost) 5 years. And while incredible things can happen through prayer and the grace of God, sometimes He requires us to put in the effort as He works through us. So that being said, I'd encourage you to find your quit group and start becoming active here on KTC. You may have prayed asking God to help you quit and the answer to that prayer may not be Him directly making you quit but rather lead you to the tools and the resources and the people to help make that happen (KTC).
