Hey all,
I’ve wanted to do this for a long time & I’m finally doing it. Day 5. Boy is it tough..
I finally joined this group and decided enough is enough. It started when I was 16 years old (Sophomore) in high school. So 18 years I’ve been chewing now.. wow.. just saying 18 years is crazy to me. Crazy that I have let this crappy habit control me for 18 years.
I deserve better and so does my family. That’s why finally after 18 years and a can of chew a day I’ve decided I’m done and I am taking my life back. Tomorrow will be day 6. I can and will do this. Thank you guys for this group & thank you in advance for helping me with this journey.
Welcome
@TheBishop ! First and foremost, you don't have a habit. You have an
addiction. Nicotine dependency is an addition and must be viewed and treated as such. This can be difficult to come to terms with but it's a critical distinction.
Secondly, we focus on just quitting TODAY. Anyone can quit for one day. The present is all we can control so that is what deserves our attention. If you haven't yet, head over to the
July 2021 group and post roll. Roll is your name and day count along with your promise to not use nicotine in ANY form today. When you let tomorrow worry about itself, this journey becomes much more manageable.
Glad to have you here! Start networking and sharing your digits with your group members and vets via the 'My Messages' tool up top. This is an accountability group so you must be willing to accept accountability as well as hold others accountable.
Proud to be quit with you today.
