Day 5 - I plan on drinking tonight. If I change my behavior then Skoal is still winning. Skoal doesn't win - I do. If I feel like having some beers I'm having them. I'm mentally tough enough. It's right here for the world to see.
I have control over my quit. There's no luck involved. - Diesel2112

Easier said than done for some people... I have been off it for a week now and there have been nights where I couldn't sleep, yes, but I think I'm doing pretty well. I don't think I'm a pussy though. There are a lot of people here who use tobacco free non-nicotine dips that I don't think are pussies. Anyway, I think I'm doing fine all in all. Another day closer to quitting and I'm happy. Lately I've been chewing on cough drops (weird, I know, but they seem to help me fight the cravings).  B)
As long as it doesn't have nic put what ever you want in your mouth.
Don't tell that to Auburn
You may be cool, but you're a tool compared to these guys.

Greetings gentlemen, boys and girls. I'm Micah, a 24 year old "chewer" (and previously smoker) who is looking to kick this damn habit.

Now, I'm an avid user of Oliver Twist "chew" bits and I've little experience packing the finer stuff. I ordered a can of Smokey Mtn and I don't know if I can do it... Does anyone know of any stuff that I can "chew" (it has become more psychological now, I think to just chew something) in place of dipping? Maybe like mint leaves? I'm trying to ween myself off of the bits cold, but it's very hard and I'm getting the urge just now thinking about it...
Don't be a pussy. Quit cold turkey is the only way . Why stretch it out and fight it, stop looking for reasons to chew. buy some beef jerky, sun flower seeds, gum. those will help alot. Every day is hard when you first quit.
So read as much info on this site as you can and find your quit group . Post roll every day. that is the most important part.
There is no tobacco use on this site at all. no nic either. no nic gum or patches.. so just Man up and kick the nic.

Why do i post Roll In august, anyways?
Shed, are you asking why you are in August? or why you post roll?
You are in August because your quit date is May 22. If you are wondering why we post roll - EVERY DAY - then you need to revisit this Giving Your Word
no, I'm asking why do I post roll in august. Yes, my quit day is in may so why post roll in August? is it a 3 month milestone of glory? i mean, why August and not May??
haha, never-mind. that's when I'm an HOFer. i went back and reread and found out all by myself.

man, how long was it for y'all before joyous days came back into the mix?
I don't think 'joyous' is ever a part of it. At least I have never noticed that yet.

I guess my example would be when you have an injury or the flu. It bothers you every minute of the day. Then one day you realize it isn't bothering you anymore.

Craving is another story. I'm only 60+ days but there are times everyday where I crave. I don't know if that ever ends.
interesting way to look at it. it took me two days to quit being pissed off at such a stupid post but the more in think on it, the more it makes sense.
