Hello, I'm here because I need help quitting. After many failed attempts, it's clear I need help. I've read through the site and am dead serious about doing this. Should I start right away, or take some time to mentally prepare for the suckfest? Any advice is appreciated.
Do it. Right now.

You're here because you're motivated. Right now.

If you wait a week to psyche yourself up, that motivation you are feeling right now will most likely be gone. You may as well chalk up another 3 years of slavery. That's the average amount of time until you'll get motivated to "try" again.

A week from now won't be any different in any other way. It won't be easier then than it is right now.

That's right, this won't be easy. It will be difficult. Some days will be downright miserable. But you what? They will also be doable, and you will survive them. And they will be more worth it than you could ever realize right now. Freedom, it tastes great.

Your next step is to take out that last dip your sucking on, toss any cans you may still have (that's right, finishing your current supply will do nothing to help, only risk the chance that today's motivation may fade), and then go post roll.

Roll, you ask? It's our wy of being accountable to each other, and more importantly, ourselves.

Click on the link up top that days "Welcome Center" and read it all. It will give you more depth on why and the whole shebang on how to post roll. Then do it. Repeat tomorrow.

Do it. Right now.
Let's do this.
Awesome job. Congrats on your newfound freedom!

As a side note, I love this site, not only because it's saved my life, but also because this is not the first time I may have helped save anothers life during my morning constitutional. What other place can make that claim?

Been quit now since 4-20-12 and right now I feel like I'm back in day 2 for the last 3-4 days. Has anyone else had this experience? This has got to pass soon. This time it actually seems a little worse than the fog I first experinced with the nicotine withdrawal. It's fog mixed with a little anger, bitterness, depression, and the like. I can't think. I'm sick to death of fake snuff, seeds, gum, and everything else I shove in my mouth instead of tobacco. Quitting really sucks right now.
Quitters commonly suffer some angst and "funk" around day 20. I would think you are somewhat close to that. It's normal and should pass within a day or two.

Welcome to the boards.

Just found this site, with  huge dip in my mouth. The 100 benefits of quitting had me laughing my ass off. Because I thought that shit only happened to me!

Been on the dip for 7 years now. Ironically I picked up the habbit in rehab, when I was in kicking some other addications. Great trade off.......

Ordered some fake dip, 3-5 business days it arrives. Then the quitting starts.
First off.

If your gonna be cruisin around this little quit temple, ferfucksake, spit that shit outta yer mouth. Its like gettin a handy from a tranny in the back of a baptist church while the pastor is preachin' temperance, cmon man.

Second.

Do you really want to quit? Or do you want to think about quitting? Tomorrow never comes dude. How many times have you told yourself you'll do it after your birthday, New Years, Easter, that road trip, inlaw visit or when you get settled in your new job. Whatever the excuse, its all addict talk.

We all know the story. We were all there. We are all still addicts. We can see through your addict talk.

The only difference between you and us is that we know it is imperative to make the decision to quit today. Tomorrow never comes bro. Bottom line. Quit today.

Check out the WELCOME CENTER up and to the left. Read up on how and why we post roll.

Make your promise by posting roll. Keep your promise by not using nicotine today. Repeat every day.

Free yourself.

Hi. Check out the WELCOME CENTER above and read all about how this site works and how and why we post roll every day promising to quit.

After that find your quit group, which will be August 2012 because you will hit your 100 days in August.

Although I'm at 11 days right now, and I feel great at times, and like crap at times. There for every day in my head it's day 1. We all must find what it is that gets us going. I wen the first 3 days not telling anyone. Told the wife on day 4, she wanted to know why I had not told her earlier. I said, "I'm doing this for Me and Me alone. THat is the only way I can make it."

want2quit, you and me buddy in this together, i've also half assed quiting for a day or two but this time i wanna do it for real. I tossed everything out n have been munching sunflower seeds like im in a tripleheader!! Lets get through this first day n then well get to the next :) Lets both hit our 100 day mark on the same day!

Also Question guys, i feel/look a little heavier today is that because of the seeds or the fact that im not really dehydrated from dippin all day? or both i guess? Do ppl gain weight when they first quit? Im just gonna go to the gym 2 times aday instead of thats the case lol!
weight gain is a very real side effect of quitting. That said, you would have to gain over 100 lbs to be as unhealthy as when you were dipping.

Worry about quitting now... you can lose the weight later.
