Keep Making A Difference
Tonight as I glanced up into the sky,
I asked the Dear Lord, "Oh, where am I?"
There's a constant aching within us, can't you see?
Who's watching over the world? Who's watching over me?
I know that life is suppose to be what you make of it
but how much turmoil can we honestly take from it?
Some feel solitude, misfortune and despair.
In this world there are plenty that just do not care.
They think about themselves; rarely of others
yet shouldn't we all love like we're sisters and brothers?
Without thought, they speak harsh words and tend to blame.
They strive to be the winner like it's some sort of game.
In life, they want the most yet never think of the least.
So few breathe in the beauty. They succumb to the beast.
If instead of taking; one could give freely from their heart.
We'd have world peace, less hunger, more love and that's just a start.
As I laid there hopelessly gazing into the midnight sky,
raindrops began to fall like teardrops of a cry.
There, shining ever so softly within the darkness of night,
a tiny shimmer at first became a brighter light.
A voice spoke down from the heavens above.
It was ever so softly; filled with kindness and love.
"Dear child, I send you this light as a bit of hope and belief.
To soothe your aching heart and give you some relief.
Many angels guide the world throughout the night and day-
showing love to the ones who somehow lost their way.
These angels are my gift to the world. They're precious miracles of mine.
They soften hearts and open eyes one careful step at a time.
They encourage us to believe there's good in all and throughout.
They bless each morning to rid mankind of greed, hatred and doubt.
You see, my child you're one of these angels that I have spoken of.
Keep making a difference; filling each heart with tenderness and love.
And for every living creature is the reason I created the star.
It's light shows I'm watching and proves I'm not that very far."
