Anybody know how long nicotine can be detected in the blood? I've heard 3 months, I've heard up to a year. Anybody have an official answer?

Did you guys ever suffer from joint pain after quitting?  The past few weeks my left hip and knees have been aching like a bee-atch.  At the end of the day, it throbs.  I went to the doctor and the x-ray looked good, but I'm wondering if the lack of nicotine has anything to do with it.  Just curious. Did you guys ever experience any kind of wierd joint pains????
Interesting you say so, Russ. I used to have a lot of pain in my shoulder (lots of wrestling injuries in HS  College). I stopped noticing these pains just after college - about the same time I started chewing full-time. Since I have quit, I have had aches in my shoulder that I haven't had in about 16 years.

I wonder if nicotine is any kind of painkiller? Anyone else know anything about this?

BAT
Chemical dependency and subsquent withdrawal can cause temporary joint and muscle aches...not sure if this is what you are experiencing, but literature on withdrawal says the pains should gradually subside 1-3 months out...Heavy abusers of alcohol and other substances commonly list muscle/joint pain as a withdrawal symptom.

A doctor's opinion would never hurt though!
This is all good to know! Thanks all! I'm on Naproxin for the next couple of weeks. If that doesn't end up working, they are gonna do an MRI. I'll bet it's from the withdrawls, though. FUCKIN CHEW!! 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' stupid stupid stupid

Come to think of it, yeah I did. Hips, knees, and knuckles as I remember, although it could be signs of something else that was masked by the influence of nicotine in your system.
