Hi,

Just wanted to say that I have come back to ask for support and lend support. I have done a some really dumb things in the past...the dumbest is having not quit.
I am here to quit. I am not here to screw with anyone, nor piss anyone off. I am only here to quit.
Tomorrow is a big day. I have a job interview, my third with this Co. and think I will get the position. This will be a huge thing for my family and myself if all goes well.
Tomorrow is big because it is also the day that I will be joining the October group 07. When I place my name on roll tomorrow it is my solemn promise to the group that I will not dip that day. I intend to repeat this process over and over again.
I am not coming in with big promise's, only taking this one day at a time.

Good luck.

A Quit Plan: Do you have one?

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

Rem, great post below....and I'm right there with ya buddy!

It's interesting, I've been watching some of the exchanges/spats/problems developing here. History does indeed repeat itseld. And the one that I got the biggest laugh out of was the group name issue.

How many of us remember that before we were Drama Queens....we were Free Maysons.....and oh, that was torture changing names...perhaps one of the times that a line was really drawn in our group and people were lining up, ready to square off. If people could have reached through their computer screens and popped someone, it would have happened. Oh, those were the days! :P

My point is that if we lived through some of the worst days, quit successfully, and it made us stronger....then those who are currently going through dip rage, experiencing problems, arguing within group and outside, etc...that which does not kill you, will make you stronger.

It really does get better people....and it really does last. If nothing else, we Drama Queens are living proof of that.

Rem, I second your sentiment. Although I am here quite infrequently your PM hit home for me and once again helped me understand how I made it this time when I failed so many times in the past. The May group was the most amazing, frustrating, helpful, aggravating, and yet unbelievably supportive group I have ever encountered. The fact that I give so little thought to the addiction now is the greatest testament I could ever give and will forever be in your, and my other Drama Queen quit brothers/sisters, debt.

Always remember that you DO NOT WANT TO DIP. ThatÂ’s why you are here! Anything that tells you that you want to dip is a delusion!

Quote from: Remshot
To all you quitters,
You may have no idea at this time, what I am trying to relate, but I have to post this somewhere...

Last night (which is actually tonight to must of us), was H-U-G-E for me.

Last night I was reunited with some of my quit group that I have not spoken to in much too long of a time.

A Drama Queen to some of you will invoke thoughts of horror and revulsion! ( :P ), to others, you will not have a clue. To those of us who are close to the heart of this subject, it will bring up wonder and awe. To A.C.O.R.D you may shudder! :D

Reunited were Elric, DFloyd, Remshot, and Lawen4cer..All of us in chat at the same time. What a blast from the past. What a sampling of what this site is about and what this site can do for all kinds of individuals....

Me (Remshot) active for my own reasons, Elric, active for his reasons, plus he has accomplished something few (if any) others have accomplished in his field..DFloyd - back thru the power of PM and change in his life. Still quit, as strong as ever...Law....feeding us inspiration, hopefully feeding on strength thru us...No lie, no misconception.

It is hard for me to explain, but the mere fact that we interacted as one again last night, just like old times, has inspired me. It has rekindled a flame in me. A feeling of happiness and euphoria.

I can see that some of you reading this and are at the stage of saying "WTF is this guy talking about?"......Let's sum it up and say that the bond you build with people in your quit group can be a strange, wonderful, and powerful thing. Reuniting after a time has shown me the powerful feelings that can be generated.

I feel infused. I feel thankful. Without these people, I would not be quit today. I owe my quit brothers and sisters more than I can explain to any outsider. I owe those of you who came after me (Units, July 06, to name a few). You kept the flame alive, you kept me focused. To those of you who came before me, I thank you with all my heart. Thank you for taking the time to spend your energy on me, and others in my group. Thank you for paying it forward. Thank you so much for showing me that it can be done. ACORD, FOCKERS, I owe you.

To all who may spend the time to read this..Sum it up and realize - if you get involved with your quit group as well as other quit groups - you will benefit in ways that will empower you...Do it. Try it. Reap the benefits.

That's all I have to say. I hope it makes sense to at least one person reading this. You can be successful in your quit. I am proof of that.

Remshot
Remshot,

It does olÂ’ LOOT good to read that post. You hit the nail on the head for me bro. The period of Nov 05 to May 06 was nothing short of magic for me personally. I learned a lot about myself and realized I could be fairly good at something. I miss the old daysÂ…April/May raging together was a thing of beauty. I even miss having to read the riot act to my own group about smokingÂ….

Through it all I have countless friends. I dare say, you could just about drop me off, nekkid with my cell phone in virtually any metropolitan area in the country and with a few hours IÂ’d have shelter, food, and clothes on my backÂ…all from a person IÂ’ve never met. And that is not an exaggeration.

The group of people on this site are salt of the earth folks who bond because of a single shared goal. ItÂ’s a club of the eliteÂ…and the only requirement for membership is to be a quitter.

Thanks for the post RemÂ…you bitches Rock!
