Going to parties and not drinking is a choice just like going out and not dipping. Except, if you aren't an alcoholic, you can have one or two beers.
I went through a phase (aka trying to sleep with a girl) where I didn't drink for 2 months but went out every weekend. It seems weird, but just carry a water bottle and people won't bother you.
NEW TOPIC:
Can someone point me to some type of explanation as to why 7 forum goers signed a letter that was sent with my wristband?
I read something awhile back that said there was a backstory to this joint. I want to know what I signed up for.
Is.... is this a cult?
The 7 signatures on your letter are the signatures of the 7 admins of the site: index.php?act=StatsCODE=leaders
Those admins have changed throughout the years, but the number always stays at 7. This is the way that we've set up the leadership of the forum. As the forums have grown (and continue to grow) we expand the number of moderators and chat mods we have as well to help with the community.
Is this a cult? Nah... but you'll often hear people talk about "drinking the KTC Kool Aid". This is in reference to our particular brand of quit. Its the best thing going. Stick around and find out.
Welcome aboard!

I guess you could consider KTC a cult by the following definition in free dictionary.com.
5. intense interest in and devotion to a person, idea, or activity
We are intensely interested in quitting nicotine and are obsessed with supporting each other through support, brotherhood and accountability. If you consider that a cult, I'm proud to be associated with it and count myself as a cult follower.
As far as
The 7, they may be a little weird but over the past 20 months I've found their support in my quitting nicotine is phenomenal to get from total strangers.
BTW this koolaid won't kill you, it will save your life!!
