I'm going to humbly post this...as I think there are so many others who are in the thick of their quit and have so much more to say and share. I've read so much wisdom from a multitude of quitters from day 1's to dangle days and up. But this is a very special day for me. I think back and have huge love in my heart for those who helped me take my first steps in my quit and all who've continued to walk with me.

5 years quit

One Monday morning, 5 years ago, I was frayed, desperate and craving hard, hopped into live chat after I posted roll for the first time. (Nailed it by the way, and way back then it wasn’t as easy as it is now haha)[/i]

What and how can I reflect today? There are lots of things, and I don’t know much. I’ll just post what’s on my mind and things I’ve learned, aside from being so very thankful for this site and all of you people who monitor it, use it and keep it going.

Our worth is our word here. Our word is our bond.

If a quitter didn't have someone they would crush if they caved, it would be easier to keep using. We would hurt way more than ourselves if we caved.

A day 1 is as valuable and meaningful as a day 1,000 because we do this ODAAT. (Day 1 may even be more badass)

Post count doesn’t define quit. Although being active is a definite advantage for success.

If you have helped at least one person quit, you are invaluable. I guarantee every one of you has made a difference in someone’s quit-life.

Try to believe that you are worth more than you think, and others are worth more than you think. There is a real person behind that screen name, screen and keyboard.

Leave your ego at the door. Get over yourself. Take your eyes off yourself and help others. Help others because that is what you do and you want to help.

As I look back, While I was here at the KTC, I will say:

I hope I helped someone gain a few extra years.
I hope, when I did the right things, it helped someone.
I hope when I did the wrong things, it helped someone.
I hope I said the right things and used the right words, all at the right time to bring someone into their own quit.
I hope I was there for that one person at the very time it was crucial for them to hear what I had to say.
I hope I supported someone just enough so they could stand on their own quit in a strong way.
I hope, I really hope I saved a life, because coming to KTC and the people here did that for me.
