Today is Day 365. Tomorrow is 5/5/2018. My quit date was 5/5/2017. So up for debate whether today is one year or tomorrow is one year. Either way.....WOW!!! What a ride it has been. Like many others, I never would have thought this to be possible 366 days ago.

This place and you people are absolutely amazing!!!

Would I have done this without KTC? NO!!!

Would I have done this without my August 18 Battling Bastards that Beat the Bear? NO!!!

Would I have done this without the support and accountability from the people I text on a daily basis? NO!!!

Would I have done this without personally meeting David S, Srains, Skol and Montovon? NO!!!

The moral of the story? It ain't me. I've been in the equation before when I've tried to quit (and only stopped).
It's KTC
It's the accountability
And it's YOU!!!

Those are the new pieces of the equation here!

THANK YOU KTC!!! THANK YOU FRIENDS AND FELLOW QUITTERS!!!

Congrats on that first lap around the sun as a quitter. The accountability network you've created runs deep and you continue to nurture it. This here is a quitter whom other's would benefit from simply riding his quit train
Thank you kind sir. You have been a huge help in keeping my quit a quit....and not just a stop this time.

Here's an update I provided to my August 17 brothers about someone who stopped posting with us but was still quit. Let this be a warning to us all that we have to be diligent in our quit and always keep aware of potential cave situations.

Screen name: Gooseman1

He stopped posting with us on 1/14/18. I have texted with him ever since and he has been quit this whole time. Just got a text from him this morning saying that he is on Day 3 instead of Day 349 like he should be. HUH??? What happened? He was out partying with friends and didn't think about it when they started lighting up cigars. He joined in. No chew, but nic. Now he is back to day 3. Says he is not coming back to KTC. Has support from his wife, a friend, myself and another KTC person. He is sticking with that.

He approved of me sharing to make us all aware (especially as we are approaching our one year quit-iversary) that the nic bitch is sly, the nic bitch is slippery and the nic-bitch will get her claws into you anyway that she can. Luckily for Gooseman1, it was a short engagement and didn't involve chew so he didn't revert back to his old habits.

KEEP AWARE PEOPLE!! SHE'S OUT THERE WAITING FOR ONE LITTLE SLIP UP!!

Haven't been doing much reading of intro's for a while. Then had a whim to look up my last post in this forum. Eight stinkin' months. Too long!! Had planned to keep this as kind of a journal of quit. You see how well that is working out for me.

Since my last post I've had a few challenges. The biggest being a couple of 17 hour drives to take my daughter to college and then to visit later in the year. Used to be that I'd get a couple hours in and then would no longer be a ninja dipper. Would tell my wife that I had to have it if we wanted to get where we were going in a timely manner. Could drive all freakin' night with that cat shit in my lip. Teaza and Grinds helped me through but I didn't need them as much as I thought. Amazing finding out all of the things the human body can do WITHOUT chew!!

Actually hit the HOF on one of the days that we were driving. I've also experienced the second and third floor. Great stuff that I never could have imagined and none of it possible without KTC!!

Also was lucky enough to be one of the conductors for The Quit for Red October. Great bunch of guys and couldn't have had more fun welcoming them aboard the HOF Train.

Once that was done I guess I've experienced a little burn out. I'm still a 100% poster but I haven't been near as active. Hoping to change that going forward. Latched on to a few quitters in June 18 and looking forward to stalking some fresh quitters in July 18 and going forward.

That's my update on day 336. So proud to be quit with all of you and can't thank you enough for your support.

If anybody wants some more accountability, feel free to shoot me your digits in a PM. I'd love to add you to my daily promise texting.

Keep on quittin on!!!

Wanted to add this to my Intro post to keep it more visible looking back.

Question from a new quitter was posed: Quick question I've been dealing with: Does anyone know if life ever returns to normal?

My response:

Normal??? How am I supposed to know what "getting back to normal" means after putting that cat poop in my lip for 25 years?? "Normal" was putting one in on the way to work, finding a quiet parking lot at lunch to have a quick 45 minute dip, putting one in on the way home from work and then staying up later than everyone in the house to be able to sit in peace and quiet to have another (this one being a 2-3 hour one). I'm an addict and that is "normal" behavior for an addict.

I'm 71 days into my quit and I can happily say that things are not normal. To be quite honest I want to get as far away from what was "normal" for me for the last 25 years.

Proud to be Quit With You! Keep on Quittin' On!!

I am on Day 60 of my quit today and wanted to give a couple of examples of what happened in the last few days that normally would have been big time chew moments.

Win #1
On Friday, Boss came by and told everyone to leave at 3pm. Great news!!!

Previously...I would have driven around for 2 hours with a lip full of cat poop and would have gone home later like I left work at 5pm like normal.

What did I do? Went directly home to spend time with the family.

Win #2
Van got backed into leaving a baseball game. Van is 10 years old and probably is going to get totaled. Guy scraped the whole side of the van and says it wasn't his fault. No police report because it's on private property. Reported to the insurance companies and hopefully they see it as his fault.

Get home and check on the pool and something on the pool filter breaks and water starts streaming out.

Previous gottadoit (61 days ago) = after everyone goes to bed, put in the biggest, fattest dip of cat poop in my lip and "relieve my stress".
The new KTC gottadoit = after everyone goes to bed, go for a brisk walk in the lovely Phoenix evening (90 degrees at 11:30pm).

What a huge THANK YOU that goes out to KTC and everything they have done.

Huge THANK YOU to my August 17 BB's

Huge THANK YOU to all the vets that show support to the newbies coming aboard.

gottadoit - congratulations on day 60!

It is hard to believe the things you can do without snuff any more.

Remember how you needed a dip right after you ate?

Amazing how quickly you get used to not having this stuff around.

I tried quitting after using for 45 plus years.

I quit with you today. Day 658!
Chalking up victories left and right. Love this shit Glenn. ...and let me tell you, you're just scratching the surface of what freedom tastes like. It continues to get better and better. Proud of you brother and keep doing what you're doing. This is inspiring to watch.
keep stacking..as i look back they are getting bigger...you are doing great!
I just read your entire post to my wife. She said, "That was you, wasn't it?" YEP!!!!

Good job, dude. Proud to be quit with you today.
Thank you sir! Creepy how so many of our stories are similar.

Been watching your postings in the September 17 group. Keep up the great work!!

Proud to be quit with you!!!

I don't know which one is worse....a can a day or all that dam dew. Both are cancer magnets between the tobacco and sugar. Glad to see you putting it down and walking away. Stay focused and never look back.
The BEST day to quit was Yesterday, the second best day is TODAY!
