Congrats on a great choice, Granolabob. Listen to Steak...he bull's eyed it. You say the rage wave sucks? How about chemo, disfiguring surgery and feeding tubes? The rage wave kicks ass compared to those options, huh?

You're in the suck right now. Here's what to do...EMBRACE IT. Turn the tables on the nic bitch. Tell yourself that you GET to feel this shitty because you MADE the choice. Quitting is a privilege reserved to those who have the guts to do it. You did!!! You should be pumped about that. I am.

Attitude is everything. You can either pine away for the chemical that was going to kill you. Or, take notice of the bad-ass choice you've made. You're saving a life here...yours!

Click around in the Quit Groups page...not just your group, but a few other years and months. Every name you see is a bad-ass quitter that has been right where you are now. And they are living proof that you can do this!!! Post roll, read everything you can and live free!!!
Welcome Granola Bob, sorry I just read your intro and see that Steak has pretty well laid out what you should do, so I thought I would help provide you some further informationa dn some links to help you navigate this at times clunky site..

I copied this from another intro I just left it in this AM as well...So, this is pretty easy to do. Sit down read up and let's do this:

1. Learn how to Post Roll; this is your daily promise that you will quit. Remember your promise to you and everyone else who is quitting with you

2. Then if today is day one, flush your stash down the toilet (do not put it in the trash...as trash is still accessible) and then go post roll with The November 2015 Zombies Quit Group; November will be the day you reach 100 days quit (not healed but the Hall Of Fame).

3. Get to know other quitters, exchange numbers and grow a network of accountability for yourself.

4. Prepare for a craving, this is going to suck until it doesn't; pony up and when a craving hits you drop down and push the ground until the craving goes away. Physical exercise is a huge crutch, so is lots of water and finding an alternative.

5. Avoid triggers, that buddy who dips, that gas station where you always bought, that fishing hole, WTF ever you used to "always do"...don't fucking do it.

6. Include your loved ones, tell them about your quit, come clean and use their support and buy in Spousal Support

7. Never and I mean never ever take your nicotine caused rage and force that onto anyone else but yourself...unless of course someone held you down and made you dip every single time before today.

8. Read all the stories and intros on this site, it will help you plan for what is to come. I thought I was ready until the first major hurdle popped up and I panicked...luckily another quitter here helped me see the path. Use your fellow quitters as guides, they do know what you are experiencing and they can understand.

9. Next remember that it is OK to be vulnerable at times.

10. Learn What to expect when you quit dipping

Now Semper Fi, Marine!

P.S. The above underlined and highlighted words are safe links to places on this forum to help guide you.
"If you want to quit then stop talking and just QUIT. If you want to kill yourself a bullet is cheaper and faster than a tin, plus it eliminates my hearing you whine and cry like a bitch."

Best thing I have read on KTC...Submitted by tgafish on 7/3/14

Former Skoal Straight and Cope Longcut user that started at the age of 12. QUIT on 7/15/13

This should be Day 4, and the rage is your body healing.

You're probably going to write me off as a complete douche bag for what I'm about to say...and I'm ok with that. But, if you want to read the honest truth and are serious about quitting, then read on.

This intro, has failure written all over it.

1) You "enjoy" smoking. Romancing the nicotine - we've all done it and we've all felt that way. But, that's pure addict talk right there. If you want to succeed at quitting, then you need to hate nicotine with every bone in your body.

2) Quitting because of pressure to quit. You're not quitting for you and until you want to quit for you and you alone, this quit will fail. Everyone here has tried quitting for others. For loved ones, our children, spouses, friends, and extended family. Every time we tried to quit for them, we failed. You need to quit for you, because you want this. I'm not saying loved ones aren't important, I'm saying that when you quit for you, all those loved ones will reap the benefits of you being quit.

3) Roll call. Figure it out...click on quote, copy the entire section in the bottom frame, then paste it in the top frame. Add your name to the bottom of the list and click send. Done. Roll is your word and your promise. We promise to not use nicotine in any form for that day and that day alone. Succeed, and post roll the next day. 616 days quit and I've never missed day.
^^^^What he said ^^^^^ Nice post Steak.

Hi.

I'm fucking going insane. 3 days no cigarettes. not sure if ive created my account right. not sure what roll call iss, watched the video 4 times. still no fucking clue. people talk about anxiety, no. it's a flat out frustration rage wave.

I guess I'll use this new introduction post to use as my journal till either I figure out how to use this place or some admin shuts me down for not knowing how to use this place.

wish me luck. this fucking sucks.
