Hey Doc you still out there? We didn't here from you today. Come back tomorrow and give us the "someone was dying on my table." Other than that, not much reason to miss roll. Post up with us brotha, we're here with you.

Great job on making that first roll call Doc. Now we just gotta get you in the right quit group....I think you should be in the September quit group. Look at the quit dates listed below each quit group and match up with which day you had your final dip, chew, etc.

Post roll first thing every morning, this is your promise to yourself and to all of us that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. Keep your promise and next day repeat. Find some friends in your quit group and get some phone numbers, you may need them or they may need you. Read all you can on this site, there are piles of vets that have quit and stayed quit and you need to know how they did it. PM me if you have any questions.

Post roll, no nicotine, repeat. You got this!

Lot of good sound advice already posted above from other quitters. They only use the word hope in sentences like - I hope there's a wardrobe malfunction in the lingerie bowl! That we can hope for because we do not control it. We DO however have control of our own actions.

Post roll daily. It's your promise to yourself and others on this site that you WILL NOT use nicotine for the remainder of the day. Wake up the next day and repeat.

Congrats on the baby. Quit hard!

Congrats on a great choice, Doc. And congrats on the kiddo. All you need to do now is follow the advice from the previous bad-ass quitters, post roll, and start living free.

Also, chewing on a pipe with no tobacco...who are you, Popeye?
Agree on the great choice to be quit, but get rid of that pipe man, why even do that to yourself?

You need to toss the pipe into a pile of dog crap, then into the garbage. You need to stop hoping and start doing. You need to love and appreciate your baby, but quit for yourself. You cannot quit for anyone but yourself....And you need to post roll....Commit and hold yourself accountable. Get a move on.

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

This ^^^^^^^^ may buy you a day or two. As soon as your hope starts dwindling so will your quit!

We don't use hope and luck, we just Quit! I use to think like you my friend. Around here we post roll and take hope and luck out of the equation. Go to the welcome center and learn how and why we post roll. Pay particular attention to why.

Quitting is up to you. How bad do you want it?
I sure "hope" that you aren't a one timer. Introducing yourself is great but until you post roll I won't take your quit serious.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

"For the Baby" sounds great, but you will never quit until you are doing it for you. Be a selfish prick for the next 100 days, get quit, and your child will never have to see you poison yourself.

Just tossed the tin!

Hi all I am Dr. Drev. I am 30 and have been dippin for around 12 yrs and the first kid is due in Sept. been trying to quit since I found out I am gonna take the big step into fatherhood without much luck had my last dip this afternoon (dear god I hope). Currently knawing away on tooth picks and chewing on an old pipe (without the tobacco in it). Nic withdrawal already kickin in 'zombie' . Contemplating some of the dip alternatives I have seen on the site to help with the oral fixation. 1 day at a time starts today any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Drev
If it's an old pipe it might have some residue with nicotine in it. I wouldn't mess with that. Get some seeds, toothpicks, or fireballs or something else.
