Hey yall,
I have been trying to quit for 2+ Years. I "quit" just about every day. I am down to just the after dinner and a few randoms(once or twice a week after lunch, fishing trips, or a night out at the bar). I just cant seem to make it more than 24hours. I stumbled across this forum after a google search on quitting. This is the first time I have joined a support group or even reached out to someone else for help. I am looking foward to kicking some A$$ yall. I havent figured out the roll call post yet, but I will keep trying.
Welcome to the group. You can do this. I'm on day 7. Things are starting to get a little better now. Man, those first 3 or 4 days really sucked! Embrace the suck my man. You will be thankful you did in the end.

Welcome - when you quit, you don't have any hidden cans. You don't keep one "just in case". You don't go to places that you buy it.

Are you a man of your word? If you say something to your group, will you keep that promise? If so, then day by day post "I quit for today. I will not dip". Do this the first thing. Then when you have that urge and you will to buy a can, you remind yourself. I promised my group.

Do this everyday. I dipped for 30 years. I'm on day 901. It is a day by day battle.

If you are weak in your quit, get phone numbers of your group buddies. Text them for permission before you break your commit. Also go find the contract on the web site. Be ready to sign that and give to your family before you take that next dip.

Stay strong, get fake stuff, drink water, run but don't cave.
