Day 4 is better than day 3. Sleeping, eating, and drinking lots of water. Got some fake stuff in my desk drawer, some tooth picks, bottle of water.... its a new life.

I used to stay up late after my wife and kids went to bed so I could have some time to dip. I was getting to bed at midnight and waking up at 6am every day. Now that I am off the dip I am in bed at 8:30 and asleep by 9:00. Getting way more sleep now than before, even with the occasional wake up in the middle of the night.

It aint all roses and lollypops, but I can see from here that things are going to get better and better each day. Keepin the faith.
Congrats on another day quit!!! You will find you that you will have more time to pay attention to the wife and kids when you no longer stay up late to avoid them and dip. I did the same thing. Always wanted to find time to be alone with my can.

Drizz....day 4 is better! We are doing this. Not everyday is going to be this nice, but I'll take it when I can. What I do know is I'm kicking this addiction to the curb.

Im hoping day 4 is even better than day 3.  They say the poison is out of the body after 72 hours.  Lets have a look what thats like, eh?
Drizz,
Read my intro - I tried to write down everything I could, but honestly I think it is different for everyone in terms of what days are worse than others...but I can tell you one thing for sure......

Take that SUCK that you feel, and give it a big fucking kiss on the lips, tell it to stick around as long as it needs to so that you never forget it. You earned it cause you are quit. Wear that headache like a goddamn gold helmet with a big fucking star in the middle.

You are doing it man - you are kicking the bitch out - One day at a time, and never again for any reason.

Your inbox has a blinky
And remember if you do this quit right, you will never have to go through these pains again! Enjoy them while you have them! keep them stored away so you never have to go through them again.

So very true.
Welcome to ktc drizz. I will promise you that day 4 will be better than day 3. Every single day that your quit is better than the day before. Just post roll early everyday and make that promise not to use. Just take it one day at a time, don't worry about tomorrow today, just worry about today. I quit with you today. If you need anything at all just pm me.
Drizz everything these guys said is true but most important don't get discouraged talk through your pain. I looked forward to the 72 hrs being over and got a little discouraged when everything wasn't roses and lolly pops. The war is far from over but each daily battle makes us closer to a victory!

Drizz.....we are on the same days....today is better than yesterday! Nearly a 30 year addict to wintergreen kodiak, and I'm only 38. Wife and 2 boys....11 and 4. 11 year old knows all about it, but 4 year old doesn't quite get what I'm doing. I have never hid it at home, but I do at work. I'm in a suit and tie environment and it's not conducive to dipping. Yet I would dip nearly all day at work. I could easily swallow if I had to. Can't imagine what that has done to my stomach. But today is a new day and soon I will be free of this garbage. Glad to be going through this with you!

I'm right there with you. I've managed to keep a dip of pep o mint life saver or davids sunflower seeds in today, and it seems to help. I yelled at my kids last night because they wanted help with homework. I did apologize after, but thats where I'm at right now. I don't have friends anyway, and have always considered myself an asshole, but even I recognize the increase in how big an ass I am.
I got tired of them seeing me chew, I never hid it. Although they never saw me put one in, they always saw me with one in. "stop chewing dirt dad." What finally made me decide to quit was both my boys, who are 8 and 9 and the same age I was when I started, found an empty can in my car, and were reading the label. I would hate to see them suffer a lifetime like I have.
Keep on Trucking brother.

Closing in on 48 hours
« on: January 03, 2013, 01:49:00 PM »
I tried to introduce myself yesterday, but my post may have gotten burried in a thread started by algos. Yesterday was kinda foggy. I feel a little more clarity today than I did yesterday.

So here goes...

I am an 18 year addict to wintergreen skoal. I have kept it hidden from most folks in my life. I am married with 2 small kids. I never dip around my wife or kids. I steal time away from them by creating opportunities to dip. Staying up late, taking the long way home, avoiding certain functions so I can have some alone time with a dip.

Over the years I have structured my life around dip. I am up to about 3-4 tins/week. I get em two at a time so I can have one with me at work and one in my car or at home. I am always plotting and planning my next dip. This is especially true on the weekends when I am with my wife and kids.

Im done with the lifestyle. I am done killing myself on this stuff and stealing time away from my family. Im done pissing my money away. Im done dipping.

So I am three days into my quit. I started new years eve around 8pm. Yesterday sucked bad. I was in a fog most of the day and just barely functioning. I have to say, today I feel better. Its only 10am and there is a long way to go till the day is done, but I feel like I have some momentum building. I am not going to lose the fight today.
