Sounds to me like you hate nicotine and tobacco. Good man! Also, it's good to see quitting apparently runs in your family, because having your brother's support is huge! That said, you also have my support.

Make sure to read as much as you can on the site, and drink LOTS of water. It'll help flush the nicotine from your body.

Welcome aboard!

I'm about 7 hours into my quit. My skin is crawling but I've been wanting to do it for a while and it's long overdue. I'm 42 and have been dipping Skoal Wintergreen pretty consistently since I was 20. These last two years have been the worst. I get out of bed at 6am am have a dip in by 630 for my drive to work. It takes about 30 min for me to get to work in the morning. I know that part of the day is going to be the hardest for me over the next few months of my quit. I dip at work allll the time. Im an anesthesiologist and sit in an operating room behind a curtain with a surgical mask on so it's not like I'm obvious about it. In fact it took a while to figure out how to have a dip in while working in an OR but back in my corner of the room its now just a part of my routine. I'm to the point now over the last 6 mo to a year where I'm putting them in on top for fear of what damage I've already done to my bottom gums and teeth. I'm fed up with this habit and it's had it's claws in me for way too long.

My brother let me know about this site. He had success here in his own journey of quitting the dip last year. I'm ready to do this.
Hell yes you're ready to do this! You already know it's going to suck a little bit at first, but you yourself have just told the whole KTC community that you've committed to this mission. Now you're obligated to your better/future self to do this. Get it through your head now before the fog: CAVING IS NOT AN OPTION. It sounds simple, but you must internalize that now.

We are behind you, man. Your story is uncannily similar to mine, and similar to so many others here at KTC. You've got a PM. I quit with you today...and every day, one day at a time.
