Welcome EW. You WILLl be a loser if you don't quit. Just google "mouth cancer" and click "images." Spend about twenty minutes taking a peek at the misery. Many of the pics are from the dead. Read some of the tough stories related to folks who died from dipping and the impact it had on their families. That scared the crap outta me for the first 62 days of my quit. Then I found this place. Now I don't have to scare myself straight every time I get a crave, though that would certainly help. I just remember my promise to the bad ass quitters here, of which you are now one. I quit with you today.

Almost 42, been dipping since I was 18. Stopped twice, once in 96 for about a year and again from 04-06, but being the slave servant to Copenhagen snuff, I went back.

I am done with it. Day 3 is today and it sucks, but I am not giving in this time. I feel like a total loser if I can't kick this habit. I have a young kid that works with me and he is a drunk.. he is doing his best to kick alcohol.. i figured why the hell can't I send Cope packing too.
Nicotine is poison.
Learn to see it for what it really is.
Stick around here and your quit will stick.
If you don't re-wire your brain, then you will miss the train.

Your not here by accident and you were not born with the poison in your mouth.
Nicotine is shit. I don't eat shit. Do you?

Cheers.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?

Welcome. You're in good company here at KTC. Lots (most) of us with very similar stories and backgrounds. Go ahead and post roll over in the January quitter group if you haven't done so already. Posting roll is the price of admission around here, and your absolute solemn promise that you will not use nicotine in any form today. You repeat that process first thing each and every day.

The good news about being on day 3 is that the worst of the worst will be over soon. Stick very close to KTC, post freely, and read as much as you can. Oh, and get as many digits as you can. Your January quit brothers and vets alike will be a vital lifeline for you as you tackle this addiction one day at a time. Do not dismiss or downplay that last part. You are an addict, and you cannot quit alone. The rotted husks of many failed quits from those that attempted to quit alone are proof enough of that. PM me and I'd be happy to give you my digits to get you rolling.

Quit on!
