OK, so this is it.. I have tried to quit before (too many times to count), but I am hoping finding this sight will help me finally break free. Been a Kodiac and/or Grizzly dipper for 33 years (started at age 17). Almost three tins a day - crazy huh? I've wasted more money than I care to think about, and I have to believe God has a plan for me, otherwise this stuff would have already killed me... Wish me Luck...
You can do this. 25 year dipper here who is 243 days quit by doing it one day at a time. Your avatar caught my eye. I'm an Ohio quitter who live outside of Columbus. I'll pm you my number. Text whenever.

Thanks Mark. Was born at OSU Hospital - both my parents were students there when I was born. Been a fan my whole life going back to the early days with Woody.... Actually live in Iowa now, but always watch the Buckeyes every Saturday...
54 yr old 33 yr dipper here, quit because of KTC 386 days ago. DonÂ’t look back, hate what that crap was trying to take from you, evolve to despise tobacco in all forms. Drink the kool aid here, it might seem a bit juvenile at times, but it works! Jump into May 15 with both feet. Come on in, the waterÂ’s fine!
In these halls you are not unique. Every addict here has been owned by nicotine and could not break out of the slavery until we found KTC. I was you 601 days ago. Post roll EDD... focus on TODAY only... and fight like you never have before to stay clean. You can do this brother. If I did it, I know you can. O-H!!
Thanks Derk40.... ODAAT, ODAAT.....
Welcome to the best of Your life.

And there you have it. You're not alone and that 33 year 3-tin addiction you have, is common place around here. Again, you're not alone. I repeat that because embarking on a quit is no easy task and you may feel like you're on an island. But that's not the case if you use the tools that are provided here. Start with posting roll and making a promise. Make that promise to yourself and to us, not to use nicotine in any form for that day. We do this every day and in time, people will begin to become invested in your quit as you become invested in theirs. We all depend on each other to stay quit for that day.

I'm telling you right now HE has a plan for you and it doesn't have anything to do with luck!
You know the story.. He sent his Son down here so you don't have to live in those chains!
And he gave us some really good brothers here at KTC to help us get started. (And a place to help others)
We're all in the same boat.
Feeling lucky were not faceless... Knowing we are stupid playing Russian Roulette.
I see people everyday ready and willing to quit and being successful here ... I also see people scared and living a lie.
Don't be scared..
This identity you are working with has gotten you by... But you can be SO much more. Free from chains, more confident, stronger, healthier, less stressful, and can become the person God created you to be.
I've been blind for 38 years.. Quit, clean, and experiencing life.. Like never before. Day 87
I quit with you today.
Throw it away.. Don't ever turn back. Live life. ODAAT.
PM me, I'll help you post roll.
I believe.....

Welcome Dack.....i'm 52 and dipped copehagen for 29years....i quit cold turkey 59 days ago....it can be done....but you need to do it for yourself......the first week to 10 days are going to suck....it takes about 3 days for the nicotine to cycle out of your body...after that it the mind games that will chase you around the block....

If your quit date is today - Your QUIT GROUP will be May.....go onto the May page and Post Roll and do it Every Dam Day EDD

Roll is the most important thing we do here. First thing in the morning promise yourself and everyone here that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. Wake up the next day and repeat. Quit one day at a time, ODAAT.

Other than that read everything you can here....read the post on the May page...read Intro...read HOF speeches....When you're comfortable, interact with your group, get to know people.

First three days to a week is the worst. Drink lots of water. Stay busy. If able, go to the gym and sweat your ass off....ODAAT, or for now one hour or one minute at a time. Just stay quit.

Also...this is a big one....cut down or cut out alcohol for a while....getting your buzz on will lower your defenses....many a good quitter caved after having a few drinks

PM me is you need anything
Follow these two leads. They speaketh the truth.

No luck here Dacklc, we just quit.

Find the Welcome Center link and learn how to post roll. I am 45 and used for 17 years, so if you want some digits to text to, PM me and I'll give them out . Quitting is a bitch at first, then it's a way of life.
