Barca was the first person to contact me here.

I've blown up his phone... He responded once, said his daughter spent a little bit of time in the hospital but was OK. Asked him why he left the site and asked if he's still quit. Dude has left the site and I am assuming he is humping away at the can again.

What a damn shame.
Don't worry man, he likely just decided that he liked cancer better than he likes his wife and daughter....

Plus quitting is just too damn hard for him. It's not easy like it was for us.... 'flush'

Biting your fingernails is a HABIT. Cracking your knuckles is a HABIT. Flossing your chicklets is a HABIT. A Nuns uniform is a HABIT.

30 years of using nicotine is an ADDICTION.

You're an addict...we all are.

I don't sense a lot of "want to" in your intro, but you got a lot of great advice from some great people. If you are serious and have that "want to", post role and join us in slaying the nic bitch , one day at a time.

Welcome! All the advice about Roll Call is great, I thought it was weird and cultish at first, but after a couple days I started pulling the site up as soon as I woke up. It really helps, it is your word that you will not use today, and a man is only as good as his word. Once again, welcome and congrats on your decision, message me if you need anything, or to send contact info, were here to help!

Barca welcome. Your in the right place bud. I've been a nicotine addict for 30+ years. Have never willingly gone a day with out snuff. But now, here, I'm quit. Day by day. Make roll call in the morning. Roll call means for today you promise all the others that are and have suffered like you will be, that you will not partake of nicotine that day. Then the next day do it again. Then hey, after a few days of hell, you'll be saying, damn, I've already suffered way to much to turn back now. And the days will begin to slide by brother. Hang on. We quit together. PM me your contact info and also as many others as possible. We quit together isn't just a saying. It's how we do it.

Found this site on Day 1, actually, but just now joined.  Chewed for 30 years, and went about 2 years on nicotine gum before starting again.

Enough is enough, and am committed to finally putting and end to this habit.  Look forward to meeting everyone!

Barca
Welcome Barca. It sounds like this is the first time in 32 years you've been without nicotine. That is key, man, 'cause nicotine is what had you stepping and fetching like some slave gopher. The chew was just the vehicle. I suggest you read all you can on the site over the next couple of day and weeks. You will have time, because you won't be supporting your addiction. The stuff on this site is gold, and it will keep your mind off of the suck. This will be hard. But you CAN do this Barca - you just have to keep choosing to stay free. The tools to do so are on this site. The first tool you need to address is posting roll. It's core to what we do. Read what it means in the WELCOME CENTER. Then, if you can keep you word, head over to the DEC13 quit group and quit for today.
PS - I'll let Syndrome or someone address the use of the word "habit".
Wow,, nico gum for two years. My sister in law has been chewing it for years. I was contemplating the use of alternatives before I found this site. I'm so glad I found it. Now I'm saving thousands of dollars and i'm not a slave to a filthy disgusting poison that only does one thing well. TAKE!!! Congrats on your decision brother.

There is only one way to quit and now your doing it. In time you will uncover all the lies you have believed for years. The thing is,, you have to stay quit to uncover them. One day at a time and you can have back a lot of what the poison has stolen. Never again for any reason and you can keep it. Glad to be quit with you.
Hey bro. You have found the right place to be to quit. Chewing nicorette for the rest of ur life is a recipe for disaster... never quit. I have a neighbor that stopped smoking about 10 years ago due to health issues... he has chewed nic gum for 10 years. He is a mess. Still a slave  always jonesin for a fix. I know if he could.. he'd be smoking like a chimney but he is physically unable.

Did you post roll yet? Did not see your name. Let's do that  get your quit rolling. Time to rebuild your life.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

These guys have pointed you in the right direction. Welcome to the world of quit. Now go post roll. Read everything on this site. It helps, I promise. Pull up anyone's intro and scroll back to the beginning and read it all the way forward.
You are quit today. Post roll, and we can do it all over again tomorrow.

Post roll call every morning.

Screwing up roll call is completely normal early on. Jacked up format plus the "fog" makes roll almost impossible at first. I actually think it's a tool to weed out the weak one's. If you can figure out roll call then you can quit dipping.

If you read through the other intro's you may see some of my same words on them but they always hold true so I will just repeat them...

You are in for one nasty fight but you have the tools here to make it.

Read everything on here, post roll call each morning and don't dip. Wow....that sounds so easy, doesn't it?

Go load yourself up with gum, mints, fake chew, seeds and beef jerky. Also get some member phone numbers right now, they will help you through the rough parts.

Next, exercise to exhaustion every single day and drink so much water that you feel like you may bust. Both of these will help.

Make sure your wife reads about what you are going through. 99% chance that you are going to be a short fussed dick for the next 3-4 weeks. Try not to take it out on her and the kids. Get on here and take it out on us, we will be fine.

I quit with you.
