Great job on your decision to quit. You may need to pack up your gear after the game and head on home rather than stick around knowing you will be tempted to cave with all the alcohol and chew going on. Choose your battles. Trust me, you won't miss anything. If anyone asks why, tell them honestly that you quit that shit and they should respect you for that or they aren't worth hanging out with anyway.
Stay quit.
Thank you for your response.
I need to tell you this, as I have been playing hockey with the same group of guys for a looooooong ass time, packing up right away without chumming with the boys for a little while is not in option in my book.
I did say it will be tough in the locker room, however the bond we share is way better than an addiction.

You gotta hear me right? After all Michigan is a hockey state too, eh? :)

Much respect,
BP

BP -

Congrats on a GREAT choice. Also, 10 days is a great start. I'm glad to see you figured out how to post roll...that is the key.

When the hockey game is over, you might want to think of a routine so you keep your resolve. Ex - check out KTC on your smart phone immediately when you get back to your locker. Read a few posts, tell us the score or how many teeth got kncked out or something.

Then tell yourself something like, "I GET to play hockey because I chose to quit. If I don't quit, I WILL get cancer. I choose to play hockey over getting cancer." Say it out loud if you have to. I used to go out to my truck and say something like that out loud but into my hat so others wouldn't see.

10 days, huh?!! Like I said, that is a great start. But that is all it will be if you don't post roll and figure out a way to resist triggers like post-hockey happy hour.

Stay strong, brother!!!

Day 10: Fog, and the upcoming Men's Hockey League
« on: September 11, 2012, 02:47:00 PM »
Good Afternoon Everyone,

My name is Billy, I am addicted to Copenhagen Wintergreen and Kodiak Wintergreen. I am now on day 10 of quitting chew. I chewed for 15 years and decided enough was wnough over labor day weekend while I was at my lake home.
I do feel a bit foggy now, and the past couple of days have been. Almost like I have a head buzz going on. Concentration is tough, and I have been experiencing headaches today, and the past couple of days. I have support from my family (even facebook), and have been chewing sunflower seeds and drinking lots of water lately

I play Men's League Hockey, and it starts real soon. After our games the tins pop open just as much as the beers do. I am going to admit its going to be tough on me, but I do not plan on going back to the snus.

I will continue to post Roll, and plan to chime in here and there.

Cheers to all other quitters!
