Bulldog said it best, and you have some awesome quitters here on your side. It may read like they are busting on ya, but they are actually trying to put some fire in your quit. Get on board with us and save yourself a whole lot of money and a shitload of pain. Remember, if you think you can or you think you can't, you are correct. It's a mindset, a revolution of your soul, an ass kicking for nicotine. One of you will win, either it will kill you or you will kill it. Which one is it?

Well today is day zero for me.  I registered for this site back in November when I was trying to quit and failed.  Every time I think about quitting I keep telling myself it’s a bad time.  Either, I’m in the process of moving, I’m trying to lose weight, or things are stressful at work.

I have come to the realization that if I don’t quit now, things will be more stressful if I wake up with a black tongue or a spot on my lip or cheek.  So tonight I am spending by throwing away all my dip cans laying around, cleaning out my truck, and getting rid of anything that will cause me to cave.

I went to the dentist this weekend to have a wisdom tooth pulled.  I didn’t tell him I dipped.  While he was pulling the tooth, he slapped me on the shoulder and said that I better quit dipping or I will get cancer.  He knew just by looking at my mouth.

My biggest problem when I quit dipping is my temper.  It gets really short.  My wife calls it nicotine withdrawal induced Turrets syndrome.  Tomorrow I will go over to the message board for my quit group and post 1 next to my name.

A little bit about me.  I am 34 and I am a tech nerd.  I work as a network tech for an ISP.   I am married and have a 9 month old son.  I enjoy working out, running, and pretty much anything outdoors.
All those reasons are excuses.
I'm in my busiest season of the year at work.
I'm having a house built from scratch with a. VA loan. It's a bigger pain than a normal loan.
I'm packing now.
Moving in two weeks.
I've had visits from the director. The vp. The senior vp.
Oh yah my pops was diagnosed with prostate cancer last week.
We find out Friday how bad it is.
Mom has kidney stones.
Wife on the rag.
Two kids 11 and 8.
Fuckin have a nervous tic in my left eye I'm so stressed out.

Fuck off. You can quit. I am quit 58 days. If I can you can. Get some atomic fireballs. Get some jolly ranchers. Get some smokey mountain fake chew. I like peach. Didn't think I would. Don't like peaches. Go figure. Put your ballsack back on ya techie bastid and quit that shit.

;Ironman:
First...FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC, BULLDOG!!! You're dealing with real shit, and kicking ass. Like Patton said, "When you find you're in Hell, keep going." (I may have butchered that...but he said some thing like that, I think).

As for Ping...no nic has you in a bad mood? What does mouth cancer, tounge and jaw removal, and feeding tubes do for you? Read the Tom and Jenny Kern story. Are you ready to say goodbye to that 9 month old bad-ass just because you enjoy poison? You can be better than that.

Yes, it will suck. But embrace the suck. It is the feeling of healing, brother!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
I'm with bulldog. I'm also on 58 days clean and I got so much shit going on it ain't funny. Don't be a whiney ass. It sounds like you let a dentist scare you back into quit mode? If so then you will fail again. You have to want it man. Dig your fuckin heels in and let's do this. Quit like fuck one day at a time. Pm me if you need anything

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

In the post below this one, you have an amazing set of really strong quitters lining up to help you. If you want to quit, having these guys in your corner will make a world of a difference. It's not clear to me if you want do quit. Do you, or are you taking a shot? Let me tell you you will have to be determined, rather than open, to making it work. It's hard. It's not going to get easier. But a pearl of great price is not to be had for the asking, or there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. You have to earn your freedom. I can tell you that from a few months ahead of you, it really is worth all the discomfort. And that you can do it- if I can, you can. The ball's in your court- are you ready to be a free man, or do you want to continue with your little secret that is killing you.

I recommend reading up some if you are not certain- check this link out: Nicotine Addiction 101

I stand ready to help you if your mind is made up to quit. These other guys gathered around you are amazing - they've propped me up and I can tell you they can do it for ANYone who really wants it.
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Glad you pulled your head out of your ass and came back, even if it was 2 months later.

Of course there is never a good time to quit.  You can always find an excuse not to.  However did you ever find a reason to miss a dip?  My guess is no.  I'm sure you always made time for that.  Funny how that works.

Throw all your shit away and post role NOW.  Why wait until tomorrow????

The best time to quit is today.  The worst time to quit is tomorrow.

Your temper gets the best of you come here and yell at me, don't take it out on your wife or family.  Call me every name in the book, I don't give a fuck.

Someone once called me "A festering sore on the body of KTC".

I didn't care.  I just kept on quittin.

Post role and start the ball a rollin.

Dude. Don't "give it a shot". Do it! But only if you want to. If you don't want to do it, then that's certainly your choice. But if you do want to quit, then by all means use the support and tools here at Killthecan. It starts with posting roll.

Reach out if you need some guidance on how to post roll.

Pingaround,

Don't see you on the May 2014 roll call page yet this morning. If you couldn't hack it last night and couldn't quite get your quit started, today is whole new day and a perfect time to do so. We, your quit brothers, are here for you at KTC when you're ready to start your journey to a better life without burden of dip. Make it TODAY. It doesn't get any easier and now is the time.

I too was a real asshole the first two weeks of my quit and my temper would often get the better of me in the presence of my family. However, aside from using KTC I developed strategies to avoid taking things out on my family. They WORK, and I was able to get through it. I will take your hand and walk you through the first two weeks. PM me. I just PM'ed you.

More importantly, make the decision you know in your heart is the right one, and don't delay your quit any longer. Throw out all that shit and get on here. We're ready to help you.
Living the dream, one day at a time.
