Greg, congratulations on the clean bill of health from the dentist. I'll bet that was a big relief. Thanks for sharing the song/story. Stay strong.
Agreed with this ^^^ bad-ass, I bet that was a relief. Many who've had a scare and later received an all-clear bell have gone right back to the can. Please tell me that will not be you! Make this your FINAL quit, your ONLY quit! Stay strong, there is no reason to return to that filthy weed. Quit with you all day long, and Thumble nailed it twice ... Thanks for your service and continue your quit one day (or one hour) at a time. You've got this brother ... see you on roll.
My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are.

READ EVERYTHING ON KTC! Learn the KTC quit plan. Live the plan. The plan works!
Just get through today and worry about tomorrow when it gets here. The days add up when you do it this way, and 100 days, while a great accomplishment, is still only the start of the journey. PM me if you have any questions or need a #.

Greg welcome aboard. As a military man and martial artists you obviously have been around discipline. Which really should lend itself well to quitting. The most disciplined thing you can do here is post roll. first thing every morning. I posted this morning and I will stay quit today.

One day at a time. Check. That is a great point. But when I am struggling with 1 hour, I tell myself that about having to restart to the clock to 100, and that gives me a little nitro boost to fight one more hour.

Glad to hear other Christians on here. You might find this song inspirational: John Waller - Our God Reigns Here. Backstory, John was clinically depressed to the point of suicide. If he can overcome that, surely I can overcome some crap in a can.

Greg, goals are awesome and if thinking about starting over compels you to stay quit, go for it. However, please don't make 100 a permanent goal line. We have seen many people reach HOF and then on day 101 quit posting here and about a week later they cave. Once and addict, always an addict just not a user. I just want to make that point. Thanks for your time.

Welcome Brother. I am a Christian too. I even attended Bible college and became a full time missionary serving in a children's ministry for 6 years. I stopped chewing for 2 or 3 years in there somewhere, but most of the time I was chewing and hiding it - from co-workers the kids I worked with, my family, etc. The freedom that comes from quitting nicotine is incredible, and I believe does draw those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior closer to him. Great job on the first week. You will still have some major hurdles, but you should be over the worst of it. Hang in there. I'm quit with you today.

One of the best things, is I am a Christian and this has been the shackles that held me back. I'm glad to have quit, and not only feel TONS better physically, but spiritually as well. Can't wait to reach 100 day mark.
Hey gregs this is awesome as heck to see. I know the feeling all to well about the shackles of holding you back. I havent dipped nearly as long as you have but ever since I got saved it was something I knew was holding me back from growing in my faith. I've been quit for 5 days now and can honestly say I haven't had the spiritual growth I'm feeling now since I first found Christ.

I just sent you a PM. We are quitting together for ourselves man!
1 Corinthians 6:12:"I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"--but I will not be mastered by anything.

Psalm 27:5:"For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock."

From Moody, Al, I have been dipping for about 30 years! Copenhagen is my downfall. Recently, I bit my cheek on accident and when I looked, my dip cheek was covered in keratosis. Scared CRAP out of me! I have 7 and 11 year old daughters, and for a moment, I thought I had bit the big one!

I quit at 1830 on 21-August-2014. I had quit before and in my research, that time is a good time as you only have 3 or 4 hours before bed, then you get a free ride till AM.

Retired Navy (23 years), Green belt (4th Qu) Shotakan Karate. I take karate to be with my daughters (getting them ready for dating!) instead of heading off to gym by myself. Prior to karate, Aikido and Tai Chai.

One of the best things, is I am a Christian and this has been the shackles that held me back. I'm glad to have quit, and not only feel TONS better physically, but spiritually as well. Can't wait to reach 100 day mark.
